I don't know if this is true (because I always want to see it on FriendsofLive.com, but that's just me....), but the Paradiso (Amsterdam, Holland) website listed 2 acts with the name 'LIVE' in june/july.
And because one of the last shows they did in Holland (april, 2006) was on the same location, I think they're talkin about our favorite band lol.gif

watch this: http://www.paradiso.nl/comingup_bottom.php

2 shows in Holland.... tooooo good to be true. The website says sales of the tickets starting this saturday nervous.gif

Considering the weekend I get to have in March here in New Jersey rockin.gif , I really hope this works out for you. Also considering the epic nature of the LIVE show in Holland...

2 nights back to back...DVD?

Yep that always a choice you have to make and probably afterwards you find you made the wrong choice

but apart from that it might be a bit expensive 2 shows ...à 45 euro

Don't sweat it. I went to back-to-back shows in Melbourne, Australia, in 2000 and they were EXACTLY the same. Same setlist, same between-songs banter, same stage movements, same EVERYTHING. Honestly, I would just choose one show and not worry about the other.

Not trying to be pessimistic, just honest. I'd love for the band to shake things around nightly on this tour, but I learned long ago not to count on it.

During 2006 and 2007, Live has been mixing up the setlist quite a bit more than they used to. If you could afford both shows, I'd see both.

And see what he means by "mixing up the setlist quite a bit more than they used to" is perfectly summed up here with back to back nights in Melbourne 2006:

Night 1
1) Mystery
2) The River
3) Selling The Drama
4) They Stood Up For Love
5) The Dolphin's Cry
6) Sofia
7) Mirror Song
8) The Beauty Of Gray
9) Wings
10) I Walk The Line [Johnny Cash]
11) Iris (with "Bad" medley) [U2]
12) Heaven

ENCORE #1
13) Rattlesnake
14) Run To The Water
15) Voodoo Lady
16) Shit Towne
17) Lakini's Juice
18) I Alone
19) Show

ENCORE #2
20) Lightning Crashes
21) White, Discussion

Night 2:

1) Mystery
2) The River
3) Run Away
4) Wings
5) They Stood Up For Love
6) Mirror Song
7) I Walk The Line [Johnny Cash]
8) The Dolphin's Cry
9) Sofia
10) Pain Lies On The Riverside
11) Heaven
12) Lightning Crashes

ENCORE #1
13) Lakini's Juice
14) Shit Towne
15) Voodoo Lady
16) Iris (with "Bad" medley) [U2]
17) I Alone

ENCORE #2
18) Rattlesnake
19) Run To The Water
20) Dance With You

You see if you look closely, they change 2 songs and drop one from the second night. Of course it's also a different order, it's almost as if you're seeing two completely different bands!

Seriously though, I'd choose either show and not worry, but more inclined for the first. I used to think it meant the first show would be the fresh show and the second the warm up. But really, the first show means they'll be warmed up anyways, even if it is the first show of a new tour they would have had to practice a bit somewhat and be ready, the fact they hardly ever change their setlist means they should be pretty confident playing it by now, and from what I've experienced generally back to back nights means Ed's voice suffers a little more in the second night. Not that either of the shows were bad shows, I really enjoyed them, it's just I think Edstipe has a point, if you can only afford one, don't stress.

it would be worth seeing both if they play new material. i hope you're being responsible and planning on how you're gonna get a recording device into the shows....

I've seen Live play back-to-back shows at the same venue a number of times (as well a 3 times in a row at the same venue) and the first night is always better. The first night is sold out, fans are excited, everything is new.

Every time Live tour, I convince myself that Live will make major changes for their second show but it has never happened. Sure, occasionally they'll pull out an obscure song for their second show (eg. All Along the Watchtower in Melbourne #2 2004) but the energy of the band is always lower the second time around.

I pretty much agree with that and I think it has to do more with playing at the same venue than it does playing back to back shows. I saw Live on their fourth night in a row a few years ago, and they owned the place. One of the best shows I've seen them play. However, back to back at the same venue rarely works out that well.

The announcement at the Paradiso site appears to have been premature and is taken down. This does not [necessarily] mean the shows are revoked but it's just not set in stone. So, no Paradiso presale yet.
