We did the Coke fest thing yesterday. 5 of us at R400 a ticket. Gates opened at 10am and the concert ended with KORN after midnight.

We had a crowd of 46 000 people which was hectic but they were a nice bunch.

The venue was crap (New Market race course) The turf was uneven! It was supposed to be cool weather, but we burnt to a crisp during the day and then froze our asses off during the evening.

The sound and lighting were excellent and so was the line up.

The line up was as follows:

SA bands:

Lonehill Estate (They sucked rocks)
Crash Car Burn (They sucked too)
Wonderboom (were awesome)
Prime Circle (was amazing as always)

International bands:

30 seconds to mars
Kaiser chiefs
Good Charlotte
Chris Cornell
The Muse
Korn

30 seconds to mars had the girls going ballistic. The lead singer climbed up a pylon on the side of the stage which freaked the security guards out badly! He was cool though. Involved the crowd big time. All these soppy little teenage girls were dripping. I personally don't find him all that appealing. sorry....he's just not Ed.

The international bands were all great. Every one of them commented on the ballistic reception from their SA fans. The lead singer of Good Charlotte threatened to move to SA on a permanent basis....much to G's fans absolute delight!

Chris Cornell was awesome! "Black hole sun" was a hit as always. He did some of the old sound garden stuff too.

Kaiser Chiefs were alright. Can't say I'm nuts about them. "Ruby Ruby Buby" is of course the only song that everybody knows. So the poor fucks only had the crowd singing to that one song. Poor souls didn't get the best of receptions.

The Muse were fantastic!!! Their ligh display and sound was phenomenal. I love their stuff.

KORN was f*cking amazing.
They rocked the stage for the last hour of the show. I was ticked that they didn't do "Twisted Transistor" at the end. But the other songs were awesome. Just call me a freak on a leash okay????? They didn't do "Eaten up inside" either. Buggers. Made me wait there for 14 hours and then didn't play those songs.

I was amazed - there were a couple of these uhm..."goth rocker wannabe's" that had +LIVE+ shirts on. Of course, we were wearing ours. And we got some STRANGE looks let me tell you!

I will post photo's and links to you tube uploads when I have time.

Feeling like death this morning. But we'll survive!
