I was looking for linkin park tickets since they play the joint the 6th & 7th when I was going to go for the weekend and happened to notice a new event the next night. I got hosed at Mandalay Bay so now I don't feel so bad. It's on the Hard Rock Hotel web site, this one is not a joke!

An evening with Live

In 1985, the four members of Live from York, Pa. began performing together in middle school and 23 years later are bringing their talent to The Joint. Members include singer/frontman/guitarist Ed Kowalczyk, lead guitarist Chad Taylor, bassist Patrick Dahlheimer and drummer Chad Gracey. Throughout their career, Live has completed eight full-length albums with total CD sales exceeding $20 million. They have garnered a huge international fan base after doing extensive touring all over the world. In 1994, their record Throwing Copper hit platinum eight times and included the smash hits “Lighting Crashes” and “All Over You.”

Live holds the title for being one of the most successful and enduring alternative rock bands of the 90s and despite their long list of achievements, they find themselves busier than ever with songwriting, recording and huge summer and fall tours. Yeah, it has been way too long. It's been since Birds of Pray Tour in '03 @ Tahoe and Anaheim. I meant to go see them at the Filmore in SF almost 2 years ago, but had to sell my tickets because of school obligations. This will also be the first time seeing shows back to back.

I ended up getting free tickets to the show courtesy of a generous fan who couldn't make the show. So now I've got a little money to splurge and and looking a booking a hotel. Any suggestions. I know all the major casinos pretty well, do you know of any fairly close that are decent?

This is our first trip to Vegas and I didnt make the reservations. We are at TI: Treasure Island, 21 and over hotel with a great location and bars and restaurants. We are not renting a car since it is walking or cab distance from the Hard Rock and we dont mind the walk....good way to wear off the alco~calories smile.gif

PM me if you want more info....btw, my bro in law is an alum of UOP. The in laws are born and raised in the South Bay.

I grew up in So Cal and used to go to Vegas quite a bit with the family. But I'm only familiar with the bigger hotels like Treasure Island and such. I think we might end up staying at the Excalibur, it is really close, I've stayed there recently over Thanksgiving break, and it's only $112 for the night. We'll be driving up from the high desert area where I'm staying with my parents while in the area, but I'd rather have something close and a little more expensive so I can have more fun!

I graduated from UOP myself in 2006 and now I live in Sacramento. Guess I should update my profile!
