Not sure how many of you have heard of or played the guitar hero games but they allow you to play songs by real bands on a guitar controller while the computer takes care of the vocals, drums, etc. They're pretty fun.

There's a new game coming out called Rock Band that not only lets you play guitar, but also bass, drums, and you get to sing. And you can do this all at once assuming you have 4 people. Some of the bands in the game are Weezer, Stone Temple Pilots, Garbage, Nirvana, R.E.M., along with a bunch of others. The songs on the disc have already been announced, but they plan to offer up songs and even entire albums for download in the future.

It's probably not a likely possibility but do you think it would be cool if Live was apart of one of these games? And do you think if approached by the makers of one of these, that they would be all for it or against it?

I'd love to see Throwing Copper put up for download...always thought some songs would be rockin' to play but I don't have the skills or patience to learn how to be a real musician... guitar.gif

I own every guitar hero game and comsider myself pretty decent. Live is more a vocal and lyrical experience than a instrumental one. Lakini's juice would be pretty sexy for a GH game.

On Rock band, I dunno if they have to abide by a censor or not so I dunno if TC can get in. It has more of a chance on RB. I'm sure Live would go for it b/c they could use it to pimp the new album or to revitalize some sales.

I think this topic has been briefly mentioned on the board. I think we all agreed that I alone would be a good song for GH.

I personally think Selling the Drama, Iris, All Over You, Simple Creed, or Like I Do would be the most fun in Rock Band, because they incorporate all the various instruments and the chord progression and solos and such are more fun in these songs.

Rock Band used to have a pool to choose the songs that will be used in their game... I voted for live a couple of times... we'll see...

As long as the thread is resurrected, Rock band is seriously the best game in years. Singing Black Hole Sun and drumming to songs by The Who is totally awesome.

It didn't happen YET. They're releasing new songs every week for download so it still is a possibility.

And yes, Rockband is friggin' awesome!
