Maybe someone else has posted this already, but at exactly 2:22 of "Where Do We Go From Here?" it sounds just like Metallica's "Fade To Black". Not that I mind, cuz I love "Fade To Black rockin.gif rockin.gif rockin.gif but is this permissable by copyright laws?

ha. i noticed that right away as well. i don't think it's EXACT... just really close. i doubt the song will ever chart well enough to get metallica's notice, so i don't think there will be any issues.

It sounds exact to me for about 6 seconds of it. I happened to have had that Metallica cd in my car and went from one to the other. I imagine if a riff is good, it is going to be in your subsconscious anyways and might creep out into your own work. But when I hear that part of "Where Do We Go From Here?", I start to sing the lyrics to "Fade To Black". I didn't do it intentionally the first time. lol.gif

You have to steal more than 7 identical beats in a row to violate the copyright; I counted 6. Plus, I do not believe it is IDENTICAL to Fade To Black...so it is permissible use.

When I first heard it I thought it was a part from The Unforgiven, but anyway it sounds quite nice so I'll forgive the guys for that lol.gif

better to think your listening to Metallica when hearing Live, then that you associate them with the Backstreet Boys (which you basically could on a few songs wink.gif )

I'd rather listen to The Backstreet Boys than Metallica... but then again I'd rather listen to somebody scraping their nails across a blackboard for 14 hours straight than 99% of Metallica's back catalogue.
