Here's a quote from the article:

In the same way as many Metallica fans still wait for a new Black Album, lots of Live fans is still expecting a new Throwing Copper. But it’s something that Chad finds a bit hard to live up to.
“When we recorded Songs from Black Mountain, Ed recorded his vocal and guitar parts to a click-track and then I would come in, take a couple of hours and figure out my parts. So it was an easier process compared to Throwing Copper when we all stood in the same room and played the songs together. It’s one of those records that you never really can live up to because it just got so big. We didn’t do anything out of the ordinary, we just recorded it and it reflected us where we were at that time.”

I think the results would be better if they got in the same room and recorded again.
