Next Album Options

So... in light of SFBM not being a favorite of most, what direction do you think the band will take with its next album??? Will they continue to be "pop" or will they pull black and record an album that "goes back to their roots"...

I'm praying for the latter, although I do find half the songs on SFBM to be worthy...

And, how long do you think it'll take before they come out with it?

I'd like to see another album - maybe something that sounds like it was an angry stepchild of SS and TDTH... yeah... that's what I want...

Ed said at the last concert it would be more of an angry record. I personally don't see it coming out before mid-2008 and I think end 2008 is more realistic.

They don't even have to do anything "new" at the moment; a (double?) cd with decent recordings of all the MJ, TC, SS, TDTH b-sides would be absolutely awesome imo!!

it would be beyond awesome actually... unfortunately, those songs were recorded when they were under contract to a different label, so they're not even legally allowed to release them.

Don't you just hate it how the world works sometimes?


So we're stuck with a "Don't Wait" recording that makes your ears bleed when you play it loud enough to actually hear the music...damn, there goes hoping!

If they really wanted to, they could re-record them and release them...the old label doesn't own the songs themselves (i.e. words and music), just the recording of the songs. Neither of these things will actually happen.

i don't think the songs would be the same if they were recorded now. the beauty of them is the time frame in which they were recorded... it's a different band now. they couldn't hope to put the same raw energy behind songs like change and new city.

as for a getting a good version of lift me up, i thought of a way, but it still requires connections. kevin smith, famed director of every movie featuring jay and silent bob, obviously has a mixed and mastered version since a clip of it appears in the mallrats dvd. if someone out there had any kind of juice and could get a favor out of smith, then the problem will be solved.

Yeah, I meant Still Aroused, actually (I got a decent Don't Wait). Didn't you download the Lift Me Up version that Icewaterike posted here a few months back? The quality was ALOT better than all the other versions I heard before!

Cause I have it and yeah it sounds a bit different...but I wanna hear a difference between the Lift me Up as we now have and a really good one, like the difference of Dealing Dreams and We Deal In Dreams... that is what you call difference but tnx though
