QUOTE(edstipe @ Mar 2 2006, 8:35 pm) *

Those who are solely heavy metal / hard rock fans who just happened to stumble on Live early and got into the band because of their heavy stuff may as well stay away from the album. It's not for you.

That really breaks my heart, not because I'm 'solely a heavy metal/hard rock fan' but because I was hoping for an edgy / dark type of album.

I'm not gonna stay away yet though, there's just something about Live that keeps me hanging around and stay optimistic.

I'll reserve my opinion when I hear the entire album myself. And, it doesn't even have to be noisy to rock, as was proven, for example, by Mark Lanegan with his Scraps at Midnight album.

Very informative and articulate review though, man.

The reason All I Need sounds weird is because you haven't heard a Live song like it since DOAD, and it has an interesting bridge. I'm not good enough with music to explain why it sounds unique, but it does, and I'm sure I can safely say that most of you will like it a lot.
