A few nights ago, at a show in Europe, Pearl Jam devoted half of its pre-encore set to playing their entire self-titled album in order, from start to finish.

I've heard of a few other bands who do this from time to time (Metallica is one of them), and I got to wondering: if Live were to miraculously do this someday, which album would we most want to hear?

I know it's purely wishful thinking and probably will never happen, but I'm curious: which album would you be most excited to hear Live play from start to finish at a show you attend?

Vote for one above, and explain why! rockin.gif

When I first thought about my choice, I immediately cancelled out Throwing Copper, because I've already heard so many songs from that album played live that it wouldn't be as huge a thrill as some of the others.

Then I thought about Secret Samadhi, and although there are some songs on there I'd love to hear live (Ghost, Graze, Insomnia), it only comes in a close second to my #1 choice: Mental Jewelry.

I went with Mental Jewelry because, personally, I have not been priveleged enough to hear two of the songs live that many other people here have: Operation Spirit and Pain Lies on the Riverside. I know these aren't as rare as some other songs in Live's catalog, but for whatever reason, Live has failed to play them at any of the 9 shows I have attended.

Beyond that, there are a ton of songs on MJ that I know I have literally zero chance of ever hearing, but would absolutely go crazy if I did: Brothers Unaware, Tired of Me, Waterboy, and 10,000 Years being the most prominent of that group.

It's just a dream, I know, but how awesome would it be to hear all those songs at one show?!

I would go with Mental Jewelry because of how little I have heard of that album in concert, and most of it being through bootleg. But I had to go with Secret Samadhi, that was the first tour I saw them on and the concert blew me away .. those songs were made to be played live. so yeah..

I have not voted, I can't choose between "The Distance to here" or "V", these albums have both the most emotional value for me.

Oh man, I'd sooo love to hear TDTH but I'm very doubtfull that Ed could still hit all those notes and back to back shrug.gif no.gif ( hopefully I'm wrong ) So I don't think that choice would be possible.

Therefore, it was either Mental Jewelry of Secret Samadhi for me, but for the sheer excitement of the songs, plus to get to hear Gas Head and Ghost live, I picked Secret Samadhi.

I picked TC because when I first heard it before Live was my favorite band, I couldn't believe how well the album flowed. I liked the entire thing!

Agreed... I'm surprised to see so many people voted for that album though. As much as I love Lightning Crashes, I think I've heard that album the most out of all of them. It would be nice to see some of the lesser known songs.

I so knew you were caught between SFBM or BOP!!! Haha!

I voted for the TDTH. Best album ever. If I heard Where the Fishes Go and Feel the Quiet River Rage in the same night I think someone would have to give me smelling salts because I would pass out from excitement!!!
