"I need to warm the juices and try something I’ve never done before.

Chad Taylor and his bandwagon of heathens, deadbeats, and charmers—otherwise known as friends—are looking for a few interesting places to perform some music and tell some stories this September and October.

And by places, I mean your place.

Your home. Your barn. Your backyard. A warehouse, art space, old church, or some other cool spot where we can gather with friends and make an evening happen.

These aren’t traditional concerts. They’re a coordinated effort between the host and me to manifest an evening of music, stories, fun, and joy for a guest list of your choosing.

I’ll bring the musicians, songs, and stories. You create the guest list, choose the location, and help determine the vibe.

The team builds the dream.

Musically, this will be acoustic—perhaps with a small PA appropriate for lower volumes and intimate spaces. I’ll play songs from throughout my career as a founding member of LIVE and The Gracious Few, probably preview a few new tunes, strum some covers, and tell some stories that don’t normally make it onto a stage.

It will be loose. It will be intimate. Most importantly, it will be fun.

We’re based in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, so our natural roaming territory is the East Coast and anywhere reasonably reachable by van. Have something farther away? If you have a particularly great idea and can help us figure out how to get there, I’m listening.

"AUGUST 9 UPDATE:

First, thank you. Seriously.

The response to this idea has overwhelmed my inbox. It feels amazing. I’ve heard from people offering homes, barns, venues, travel, production—and apparently places on the other side of the planet.

Even the commercial offers have been incredibly generous, but I want to clarify the idea because I’m deliberately trying to avoid a traditional gig.

No stage. No ticket sales. No publicity. No PA system. No crowd.

The ideal guest list is maybe 25 of your friends and family gathered in your home, barn, backyard, or some other interesting space.

I show up with a guitar and perhaps a friend or two. We play some songs. I tell some entertaining stories. We hang out. We laugh. Maybe everyone leaves knowing a few people they didn’t know when the evening started.

That’s the gig.

Compensation: These are not commercial performances. I’m neither accepting nor expecting payment. The trade is simple: your hosting skills meet my musical goal.

I need to warm up.

I want to get back to casually strumming my guitar, singing songs, telling stories, and finding that muscle again without lights, production, ticket counts, or the machinery surrounding a traditional show.

I’m probably only going to select one or two of these, preferably within reasonable driving distance of Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

Unless, of course, somebody owns a private jet or wants to provide commercial transportation.

Frankly, Australia is a tad unrealistic.
