So he wrote back.
First email said "thank you for your email, Frank" which I think may have been an accident.
Second email had 3 pictures attached. I will try to embed, or at least post links right now. wish me luck. in that email he said the attachments were preliminary designs for SS album covers.

Ha!! I did it!! Thanks, Dan, for teaching me how to use imgur!! anyway, that's what he sent me. no info about the finished product. I sent an email thanking him for such an awesome response - how much would it have changed the way the music felt if it had had some of those first album covers? especially the middle right one, with like the bubble lettering? maybe not at all. but I'm glad they went with what they did.
anyway, I also asked him if he could provide any information on the face image. if he responds, I will post that info here. I did not track down the other two guys listed (tim and todd, I think) because I had to go to work. I just got home from work, but I was excited to have these photos, so I wanted to get them up.

Great work tracking down these images! This is the first time I've seen any alternate artwork from Secret Samadhi.
The final image (the wing) was used for the Lakini's Juice single - except it wasn't in colour.

Really interesting. Thanks for posting. I too think they went for the best and most appropriate design in the end. That glove wing is totally out of left field though- as are some of the songs on that record...they may not have been such a bad match.

ok I'm in bed, I must sleep, but that wing image looked so familiar. Lakini's Juice single RAD 49023 is this image in silver and black. the liner says Cover art: "Lift" by Paul Villinski/Photo: Phil Schuster. Frank Olinsky is credited with Design. I've looked at this single many times, never really noticed the work gloves making up the wing. its cool.

That's a Japanese release. Most albums released in Japan have that strip of paper along the left hand side - it's called an OBI strip.
Those lines you see over the cover - I don't think is part of the artwork. It looks like the plastic wrap around the cover is reflecting while a photo or scan is being taken. You can see the secret samadhi mask in the background.
