Latest LIVE Facebook update, Is this Ed? Options

Ed of the 90's died in the 90's and the Ed of post 2000 does not even come close to comparing to the Chris Shinn of today with LIVE. I think for most of us that started following this band in the 90's this is a breath of fresh air and while it may not be Ed of the 90's it's ten times better then the Ed of today.

I continued to attend LIVE shows post 2000 mostly due to the fire that was lit in the 90's, even though Ed continued to slide off of a cliff. I was lucky enough to attend the York show recently and the fire and energy is back. LIVE most likely will never regain the popularity they once had but for me that is not important. What is important is that my favorite band is back and as long as I get to see them and get some new music I am a happy man

Now it is 2012 and LIVE in 2012 is not Ed, it's Chris. If you don't like it that is your choice but for those that don't why still linger on the LIVE thread (you specifically troll? There is a thread dedicated to Ed that maybe you should go hang out in. I don't read or post negativity in Ed's thread so maybe you should show some respect and do the same. The train is about to board so get on the new LIVE train and support them or be left behind.

All quite valid. However, those that are Ed loyalists, those who believe Ed is/was LIVE will not be convinced. It's an exercise in futility at best. Why? Because they believe in a false premise, that Ed is LIVE. But hey, that's cool if that's how they roll. I know that CCP are happy, CS has his own chops and new rock is coming our way. I don't see a down side.

Notice the sound quality of I Alone at Antoines. Shinn's vocal basically gets drowned by the instruments. He also exudes no stage presence or charisma.

Kevin Martin, while I'm not a fan, actually performs like a front man should. You are totally drawn to his performance, and he gets the better reaction with a lesser song.

Lightning Crashes from Antones. The song's awesomeness gets the reaction in spite of Shinn's weak performance. He doesn't do LIVE's hits justice on any level.

Watch the Lightning Crashes video. Chris not only sounds weak, but he is not a strong performer. The song's vocals fall way flat, and he seems to forget the words quite a few times.

In your videos you don't hear strong vocals either, they are covered by the music and totally blend in.

Of course i read it. CCP are happy. Check. CS is who he is. Check. New rock coming. Check. All happy out there in music land. There is obviously an Ed side, and a CCP side. Thats nothing new. I dont think thats what gets Nick going.

Just opinions. There will always be those who believe Ed is/was Live. Ed loyaliats dont believe that its false. You wont convince them that you are right.

Yes, always. How do you measure that about CS though? For the most part, he's not playing to the same audience. And some food for thoght, the CCP loyalists look at 2000's Ed as some horrific joke of musical talent and ability. How hard can it be to outshine that view?
