I have no doubt that if Live re-recorded "Hold Me Up" as a single for their new album that it would help immensely and would be an incredibly smart move. The song kicks major ass and all Live fans want it and anyone who hears it wants it. We have all seen the comments on YouTube.

Shinn fits it well and, not that it is entirely needed, it would be a transition of sorts from Ed to Shinn. It would be the bridge between old Live and new Live. An incredible, yet unreleased song, re-recorded by a band with renewed life and energy.

But what do you do with the older version? Wil we EVER get our hands on it?

Conveniently & silently put it on the 20th anniversary remixed/remastered reissue of Throwing Copper. nod.gif

We may not have the option of ever having a perfect copy of the original, so I'm all for a sweet remake of this one.

I think launching the album with a few songs like Change, New City, etc. may excite the hardcore Live fanbase, but it wouldn't do much over all. I'm guessing the guys will do what their hearts lead them to do.

I wonder if they'd ever re-record Overcome, with all of them on it (i.e. the version that we initially heard as a recording from a live gig, and a poor recording at that!).

Have you heard the TDTH demo tracks? A 'full band' version of Overcome is available that sounds like the concert recording from 1998.

Check it out here:
TDTH Outtakes, inc. Still Aroused (studio) and Overcome (full band)
