I have no idea how many hundreds of times I've listened to Gas Hed, but last night while listening I noticed for the first time that Ed laid down secondary vocals starting at the 3:56 mark.

I can make out "Watch for sharp corners". Does anyone know what the rest of the statement is?

I can see this turning into one of those "there was a 2nd lyric from the grassy knoll" type things...

I slowed it down and listened to the left channel....it does sound like his quote. You could always ask Ed.

ha I think I'd actually be more interested in how Ed answers that than what the actual answer itself is.

I've definitely heard "watch the sharp corners..." but I have no clue what's after it.

Maybe Nick could ask him if he gets a chance. Nick, Gas Hed Goes West is a song off Live's 3rd album called Secret Samadhi. it's a dark, mysterious, powerful rock album that will literally rock your socks off if you ever listened to it. (sorry, Nick, that wasn't nice of me - but for real, if you talk to Ed anytime soon, maybe you could ask him)

Watch the sharp corners of the dreamer's falling sky?

Damn this is hard to decipher. I'm trying to bend and twist the track in Audacity, boost this, take out that but it ain't workin'. And I think he continues to say something as the music intensifies, making it impossible to coax the words out.

I thought the downfall of Live was V but maybe it was really these indecipherable words?

As the guy who pointed out to everyone that Ed sang about biting dick I appreciate your efforts on helping me solve this one!

If anybody gets a chance to actually find out, would you please also ask about our other unsolved mystery - who added the background lyrics to Radiant Sea?

I never thought it was anything other than "bite dick" ... what I do like is that if I remember correctly there was sort of a drop on volume or some sort of distortion right after the word dick, it made it sound like they tried to censor the word but mucked up the timing. I'm not sure whether that was actually the case or just a glitch in the recording we got.

I originally heard, and still hear "your di-vine destiny is waiting child" (the dash indicating the drop in volume) but I will not win this argument. Nick, ask Ed about this one, too, eh? see if you can get him to put the lyrics somewhere.

anyway, I'd love to know about Radiant Sea as well...

Whoa that's old! I still stand by my guess from back then, though I should see how MrSheptical's option fits.
