Now that we have Freaks4Live

I wanted to put this out for those who followed our band on the dawning of the internet age. Found some archived links to FOL. They are historical snapshots of the site over time. I'll list all that are available in all years. The links take you to other pages where the multimedia may or maybe not available but the web page content and pics are viewable!!! Some of the links are down due to the content being on an offline server host. D- found your tour diary archiive 7/4/2004 man!!!

Thanks to Mr. Lang for his efforts wayback!!!

Enjoy and discuss!!

Before 98, we had cerf.net site http://live.cerf.net

Great find, lots of memories right there for sure, of course some of them great memories and others quite painful now (SFBM).

Yep, but it nice to have the ability to go back and call up Live's internet history.

Good memories indeed. I got my first internet connection in 1995 and live.cerf.net was one of the first sites I frequented. SOY mailing list was invaluable as a Live fan, like this board is today.

Every now and then I visit Illout just to relive the memories.

It's crazy to think how many Live fansites used to exist. Of course, it's a hard to find a ton of fansites for most bands these days.

Illout, haha. I remember being being bashed repeatedly for calling out Live for their decline, and in particular for bashing Ed.

Live-Web was the absolute best.

wow. that was insane.
as someone who's old enough to remember when people were talking about this new thing called the world wide web (I remember asking my classmate (who I hated, but he had a big house and lots of parties and we had tons of mutual friends - and he was a big fan of MJ so it's probably because of him that I know LIVE) "what does the world wide web do??" and he said "um, everything, I guess" which was probably just him trying to be profound or something).
the first cerf.net sites I explored here and there in college (I graduated high school in 95). but the internet was still new and our college computers were barely a step up from the little mac's with the 7 inch green screens. (we still had some of those in the dorm lounges my freshman year... maybe as a joke? all we could do on them was play pong)

anyway, it's an awesome look back. I was talking to Jimmy on the 12th, while waiting to get our seats, about how he used to run Live's website from a server under his desk at work! (don't tell his boss!!)

thanks, OTD. nice memory lane trip!

The internet's a different beast anymore. Seems like Facebook, Twitter, Reverbnation, and all the other social-network based sites have nearly made fansites obsolete.

Sites with active communities have tended to stay the course, especially if they aren't too expensive. I don't know the financial realities of this site but it's continued existence leads me to believe that it isn't that bad or Dan is a bajillionare.
