It would be nice to see them play 30 songs in a night. Pearl Jam does and they have an extensive catalog comparable to Lives. Their shows include studio, b sides, and covers. Live could potentially do a show like that

I personally dislike shows that go over 90-120 minute mark. Must be my short attention span.

It would be something cool to see. The one thing that always bothered me about Live was the stagnant setlist. Change it up every night, throw in songs that haven't been played in awhile. It makes the whole experience so much better

Ween too, at least 3hrs every night. What I love about bands like that is when I saw Ween in 2008 I saw them 3 nights in a row and they only played one song more than once. That was like 9hrs or 90odd songs, total value for money and you just know the bands that do this are absolutely loving every minute of it, the setlist is so varied because they care about rewarding people who pay more money to see them more than once. Can't expect every ban to be like that really, but to me that's the bar being set. Shows that go for little more than an hour for the most part leave me a little underwhelmed, like wanting more but not really in a good way. Live at least never was that bad with really short sets, very unvaried sets for the most part but they would play for a decent enough length at least.

Pearl Jam is one of the best live acts out there. They have a different setlist every single night. If they're playing the same city multiple nights in a row, they'll come out with an entirely different setlist each night. They also rarely play a show under 2 hours. In fact, most nights you can expect Eddie to come out by himself before the opening act and play a 30 minute acoustic set.

I wish that more bands would follow their lead, instead of playing a bullshit hour and 15 minute show each night, that consists of the same setlist.

I would absolutely collapse in pure joy if I got to hear 2 solid hours of LIVE. I would collapse. I can't even begin to arrange a setlist. Pretty much all of SS. Mirror song. 10,000 years. Iris. Horse (I'd love to see it - it's such a cool song). really, the first 4 albums. would that be more than 2 hours? tongue.gif

311 used to play all of their albums at once several years ago btw. And PJ comes to my mind for sure as well.

Speaking about The Distance, that 2001 version 9 minutes long is one of the best songs I have heard performed live in my entire life. I mean in recording. Bootleg recording.

Tough to beat a Pearl Jam show. LIVE's stale setlist use to drive me crazy. It was the same show over and over. I now understand the last 10 years...they did not like Ed and vice versa so they probably never made the time to get together and rehearse.

I always wanted to go to a "311 day". That would be one hell of a show.

I saw Pearl Jam for 4 nights at the spectrum and each night was different. It was amazing.

In 2003 Pearl Jam played 3 nights in Boston. They told the fans that over those 3 nights they would play every song from their concert catalog. They did just that.

The first night was 26 songs.
The second night was 24 songs.
The third night was 45 songs, with part of that being an acoustic set as the first act of the show.

Impressive stuff.

Maybe Live can open for Pearl Jam? That would be tough to beat (at least for me).

Too true. Coupla years ago I was not that into Nickelback and I was shocked Live opened for them

Rading Chad's old blog posts now, I was in shock to learn in 2003 there were hundreds of thousands of people jmeeting Live across the globe. In 2003 they were asked to headline a show performing after LYNYRD SKYNYRD! I never remembered that but now I am in a SHOCK!

They refused for sure.

And then in only 3 years we got small clubs and opening for Nickelback.
