You learnt your lesson there, leopard never changes its spots, whatever Nick said he won't change so we shouldn't either, he's irrelevant anyways now

I wonder if these 4 tracks were what we were meant to get upon signing up and signing up others? Or if there is still a gem waiting to be sent our way?

I hope not.

I have Nick on ignore but I'm putting a wild guess out there that he ripped the recordings and used the words "cover band" or "karaoke." Someone who hasn't muted him let me know how I did! bounce.gif

Maybe album 8 will just be Throwing Copper 2.0.....

Come on, even the most die hard fans have to admit that this is a bit on the pathetic side of things.

With these songs, the website, the shows, the youtube clips, the photos, the direct interaction with Adam, the concert reviews, the re-emergence of my buddy Jimmy... I feel like it is Christmas morning for eight straight days - which actually makes it Hannukha! Seriously, I am loving Live again like I haven't in years. And my wife is giving me a hard time because she sees me reverting back to my obsession. Checking the message board all night. Going to concerts. Talking about Live. Singing Live tunes in the shower. She hates it. I love it. I may need to cool things down for a little while. I sure hope they don't go and announce tour dates any time soon or anything. omg.gif

As of the 12th of this month, the opinions of that sad, bitter hermit no longer matter.

Live has returned. Rock has returned.

My wife said to me last night "So I guess you are obsessed with Live again." Then I mentioned the mystery 3/31 tour date and she just rolled her eyes.

Funky - I chose to read Nick's post and I was not disappointed. The term karaoke was used.

I don't even need to put him on ignore because anything he has to say means absolutely nothing at all to me at this point. I just automatically ignore anything he has to say without the assistance of computer automation. Live is too good to be entangled in that silliness.

After last Monday, Nick's posts about Live are like a little bird pooping on an actively erupting volcano. lol.gif

When I'm listening to the new Live songs, I'm finding that how I perceive it depends on what I'm looking for. If my mind is set on a Live-cover-band mentality, it's all I hear. If my mind is focused on the energy and passion in the song, that's all I hear. Since I choose to hear the energy and passion, I'm loving these new versions.

When I listen to the new versions and I'm thinking of Ed's version in my head, it doesn't work. I have to forget Ed's versions and focus on what I'm hearing to get the chills and thrills back.

Sometimes I think we'll get so very used to Shinn's voice that one day, 1990s Ed will sound strange to us.

For me, hearing the re-recorded tracks is definitely cool as a curiosity. I still prefer the originals but Shinn does a more than adequate job.

However, if the plan is to re-release TC with different vocals, I don't really see the point. I'm hoping this was more along the lines of they were rehearsing the songs and they thought it would be cool to lay them down with Shinn at the mic.

I'm really hoping for new material, not a re-hashing of the old.

Replacing the classic original songs with these pale imitations is a slap to LIVE's history. Throwing Copper is perfect the way it is, why create a lesser version of the hits?

You may be able to have a new singer cover the hits in concert, but you can't pretend that the years with Ed never existed.
