QUOTE(SJN1279 @ Mar 13 2012, 10:44 am) *

There are a lot of great cover singers out there. Last night he sang 11 songs that he had no part in creating. How is he not a cover singer?

A cover singer is someone not affiliated with the band who also was not the original singer.

If I sing live songs, in the back of some bar, with no affiliation with the band I'm a cover singer.
If I become the official lead singer of Live, I'm no longer a cover singer

Get it?

Great review with proper context, funky. Thanks.

Contrary to what Live's press release says though, they continued to perform together until July 2009, although Ed started doing solo shows from December 2008. I guess mentally that indicates the split but technically they did 18 more shows from there.

(I tried to keep track of the EK vs Live vs TGF tour dates, list is now in the Archive: http://web.archive.org/web/20100928061843/...tueel/tour.php)

Awesome article Funky.

Nerve racking: Not only was is it Shinn's first appearance in public as the new front for Live, but also a tough venue/city. Sure there were some diehard fans, family and friends there, but there were also a lot of business associates as well. That can make it very difficult to connect to the audience. I imagine Chris was looking out into the crowd and trying to get a feel for whom he was performing for. I'm guessing he locked on to some people that were at the show, but not really there if you know what I mean. Next show will be a little more fan friendly I hope...

Agreed, the first two rows gave him tons of love and energy though! Anybody got an Advil?

I survived... barely. The energy and excitement of that show last night damn near killed me! I am busy at work this morning and it will take time to write a proper review and post pictures. I did get photos! Mostly of Chris because he was the only one properly lit for photos in the spotlight most of the night. Between writing up a review and processing and loading photos, I have a lot of work ahead of me. I have to figure out how to put this thing I just experienced into words. Believe me, for those of you who were not able to be there - this expereince is hard to put into words...
