They can't struggle anymore than SFBM Pre-Alive.

I mean, with the known bald lead singer, they still flopped hard with that album and they were even on American Idol for christ's sake.

Will you at least answer the following the question, your silence will be considered as an agreement with me.

Do you not see the hypocrisy that in every Interview Ed has done the past few years he talks about moving on with his solo work, moving forward with his solo work, leaving behind the repeative throws of Live, yet in many of his promos and now the naming of his new tour he tethers himself to Live. Can you at least acknowledge the hypocrisy? Leave out the rationalizations about how people want to see "the hits". If the people want to see "the hits" and Ed want's to please them playing "the hits", then why in the fuck did he leave Live. "The hits" would have been better played by the 4 live members than by his shitty backing band. You, nor Ed, can have your cake and eat it too. Either he's moving forward or clinging to the past, it can't be both.

Not that it means much to Ed (or Nick) but I think most of his former fans, friends, bandmates, etc wish that he just would move on at this point. I think most would support that and respect that enough to just say cool, if that's what you want to do. I mean, it's just really old at this point. It's not even fun to joke about. It's just pathetic.

SFBM was an indie release and sold twice as much as TGF and Alive did combined. While the album wasn't a commercial success, the band's accompanying tour drew packed houses each night.

I believe that Ed and CCP reached a point where they no longer wanted to work together. Ed wanted to make one style of music, and his bandmates wanted to make another. They also toured basically non-stop the last few years of their existence, and I'm sure grew quite sick of each other.

I believe Ed wanted to focus on his solo work, but still loves the LIVE songs he helped create. The boys weren't sick of LIVE or the music, they were sick of each other.

How many bands, marriages, friendships, or work relationships last 20 years? Not many and there is a reason for it.

What does that even matter? The album was shit, it can do as well or as badly as it wants but doesn't change the fact it was a band out on its feet. See what we mean, stop fucking judging everything in terms of sales.

You remind me of this guy I worked with who recently went to the Foo Fighters gig in Melbourne and he proclaimed "the fooies" were the best band in the world and you know this is a fact because they had such a huge crowd. I thought I'd make a point and said that Pink sold out something like 13 nights at Rod Laver Arena here a few nights ago and that makes her a bigger draw in Melbourne than "the fooies", rather than go "hmm I see your point", he went "wow really? I should probably listen to some more Pink then if she's that good!" without a hint of sarcasm.

No one is disputing this. Funny though that they "grew sick of each other" but 3 of them as well as all their families and many reports of long time friends all stuck together still and show great love for each other whilst just one is out on his own. Surely you can see Ed must have had some major input into burning so many bridges, that can't just be coincidence.

You still don't get it man. This was Live. Straight outta York.

Live failed when it became "Eddie K and the Individuals"

I actually like SFBM quite a bit.

Ed could have changed and outgrew his friends. It happens everyday. LIVE's management is with Ed and not CCP, so not all parties distanced themselves from Ed.

That's great, but it's a complete shit cd compared to the first 4 albums.

Live management sided with Ed, because that lying weasel got Ed locked into the contract and agreements that screwed the other 3. I am willing to bet that the other 3 guys want nothing to do with the old management that followed Ed.

Ed did change, he stabbed his friends in the back, he didn't out grow them.

I know you quite liked SFBM, it explains a lot. But using sales to try and judge the quality of one album vs another is just fucking ridiculous. SFBM could have sold 100 copies and that doesn't change the fact that you like it quite a bit does it? The quality of the music to me is what puts it on such a low place compared to what else they came up with.

haha oh and nice to try and salvage that one. Not all parties no, but by all accounts, a great majority. With how close they all were, the rock the boat that much and to attract this much venom from people, man he must have really hurt some people. But that's ok, just gloss over that, it's what you do best.

Nick liked SFBM before it was even released just like he hated TGF before they ever released an album and he already hates new Live before they have done anything.

No doubt he already loves whatever new solo album Ed will have.

Nick loves Ed and hopes anything and anyone remotely related to CCP fails.

And Nick, if that isn't true, understand that is exactly how it looks from what you post on these threads.

If Ed wanted to make a different style of music why does he continually say that Alive is reminiscent of Throwing Copper, the spirit of Live continues with his band, yada, yada, yada. He says he wanted to do something different yet he claims the result is the same as what he did with Live. We all know better. The only truth is that he couldn't work with CCP anymore. Funny how those 3 managed keep things together yet he couldn't. Face it, he wants to be solo. That's what he wants to do differently. He doesn't want to collaborate in a band setting. It's not about making different music to him, although he is clearly not making the same music. I wonder why it's not the same. Hmm...something missing maybe? If he could bust out another TC you know he would. He can't without CCP. The chances of getting something like that are much greater with a new singer that will surrender to the band concept of creating music and embrace the philosophy of Live that's being discussed in that thread.

Very few bands have ever successfully replaced their lead singer without death being the factor:

http://rock.about.com/od/top10lists/tp/Roc...LeadSingers.htm

LIVE should outdraw Ed in some markets on name alone. That doesn't mean Ed solo won't draw enough for Ed to play and be successful. Many fans would rather here the actual voice and chief songwriter of the band LIVE over CCP and an unknown cover singer.

Fuel with chief songwriter and lead guitarist, Carl Bell, did so poorly with a new singer that he eventually sold rights back to original singer Bret Scallions, who is doing fairly well with the new version of Fuel.

My money is on Ed.

Your money is on Ed??? Ed now or when he relents and comes back under new working conditions??? You change your position more than a politician.......oops!!!

Need I remind you that your point was that TGF tried to distance themselves from Live and Candlebox. While they were active, they did just as well as Ed in comparable situations, better in some. Throwing out international statistics when they didn't really tour internationally is mute. Ed relied heavily on his association with Live and toured international markets where Live had a bigger current following than the US. The only area that he has outpaced TGF is in touring since they stopped. I'm not sure how you equate that to some huge success with the numbers he's playing to. So he can line his pockets with a few extra bucks playing Live's hits. Wow, impressive.

Yep, this is part of the sacco spin cycle.....moving goalposts every thread. Keep polishing the turd SJN!!!

People will always mainly remember LIVE as a band that gained success from Throwing Copper and their success in the 1990's. As long as Ed plays the classics while mixing his new material in, he'll be fine.

The Gracious Few tried to distance themselves from LIVE and Candlebox......how did that work out?

I guess it's working out fine as it will always be there as a project between the Live & CBbox brothers. Most artists today are juggling multiple bands.....its the nature of the music industry today. If you cannot see that.....sorry. TGF will still be doing things.....it resonated with those 5 and the current fans and the new ones just discovering.

Let's get out the bats and clubs..........we go take this on forever if we like

I'm a little surprised.
the tour poster he put on FB says
"vocalista de Live"
which, though I'm not a native Spanish speaker, correct me if I'm wrong says "Vocalist of Live"

methinks he can't help but notice, since he put it on his fb page. so he just doesn't mind advertising himself as the vocalist of Live??

First I Alone, now there's no denying that he's seen this poster...

dammit, Ed.

Don't worry a tally is being kept of every incidence of this. Trust me. He'll come crawling back by early 2013. Maestro's argument is key. It's pretty well thought out!! eyebrow.gif

Most fans who attend LIVE shows at least know of Ed or the bald lead singer. The majority of fans will know that there is a replacement lead singer with the band. Attendance at shows will be drastically down from their days with Ed, and albums sales will struggle either way.

The hard core Live fans who fell in love with the music, not the indivudual names left in droves after Ed commadeered the wheel. They'll be most likely to return to hear what Live is doing now sans Ed. They may not be able to say it's 100% like 90's Live, but I speak the truth that many hated Ed's ego and his railroading the band into sell out dung!!! People stopped following Live's music because of ED!!!! This is very true.
