What's extreme about not wanting a potential conflict to materalize at a function that has nothing to do with the topic the question-asker is wanting to bring up? Couple that with the fact that this person has no business being in the middle of his personal business, and I'm surprised it ended as peacefully as it did. Like I said before, kudos to all involved.

Had the Thrill simply spoken to Ed instead of name-dropping 3 people he is currently arguing with, he would have had his ear for more than that quick moment. The pubic and private lives of those more famous than us are separate for a reason. Or at least they should be.

Introducing himself was an honorable thing to do. I really don't see that as grounds for dismissal.

I can reason just fine. Thusfar, you given no grounds as to why you think his intentions are bs. I could come up with some ideas but then I have no idea if that's your reasoning. I only know mine. Apparently you have none or are unwilling to share. In the meantime, go talk to that wall, it won't respond to your drivel.

Keep in mind that Ed avoids the issue at every turn, not just at a venue like a meet and greet. All his interviews he gets uncomfortable or ducks the question and rambles on about nothing.

I am sure the venue was part of the reason things went down like they did but if the Thrill saw Ed walking down the street and approached him I am willing to bet he would have gotten the same treatment from Ed.

Not "Hello, I am friends and business partners with 3 people you dont like right now."

There's nothing honroable about a proper introduction. Its proper etiquette.

Thanks for the grade school etiquette lesson. It was honorable considering the context. As jclive said, he could have withheld the ccp part and gotten more time. Instead he was upfront and gave more credence to his intentions. No hidden agenda. Here's who I am and this is what I'd like to say.

interesting takes and various bedwetting all around this thread now!! Anywhoo. This is an account we get first hand confirmation, then we try to spin it into something of every extreme.

Ok, if we're playing that game....what about all the incidents we may have not heard about? You think all fans who go see Ed know the real story?, and you can bet dollars to donuts that he's fielded all kinds of these questions to 'why', 'can't you rejoin', 'do it for the fans', 'why aren't you doing much solo work', 'is it true what has been said'....I can go on and on. You can probably bet there have been similar things said to fans at meet & greets who hit the tape to close. We have the faceculture.nl video and we have Thrill's account....both show an avoidance of the whole thing, it seems like a pattern. His response is a defense mechanism. It's human nature 101 when someone wants to avoid issue involving them. Plus he needs to watch his words and show his actions are happy go lucky (that litigation thing)....his facade is to make believe nothing ever happened!!!

I didn't say anything about us or me. The dude was there to pass on that C,C,P loved him. Ed jumped to conclusions. The thrill introduced himself so Ed knew who he was, someone very close to C,C,P. Someone close enough to the situation to pass on such a heartfelt message.

This is spot on. And yes, I was told to say hello and give him some LOVE on their behalf. I do believe he did jump to conclusions because his immediate response was "This isnt the time for that" The time for what? Since when isnt it the time to tell someone hello.
The reason I said friend & business partner is so he understood I was just not some aquaintence of theirs and he knew the message was coming from them.

I have NOTHING against Ed. What is going on is between the 4 of them. I do know however that Chad, Chad, & Pat are VERY forgiving and caring people. If either of them were approached the same way by a friend of Ed's, they would have been very nice.

And yeah, when I saw / heard he had no desire to speak, I just wanted to leave and not make him any more uncomfortable than he had become. So what was the point with taking a picture with him. Im not a fan, or his friend. However, if he were to reconcile with my friends by all means I would extend my hand as well.

i guess calling him out in a public fashion left a bad taste. as a fan, thats what always bothered me about this deal. you dont tell your kids your wife is banging the mailman when your getting a divorce no matter how pissed you are.

I didnt make a scene or do it in a load way. I went up to him shook his hand and leaned into him and whispered this in his ear. Nobody else heard me. In addition, I was the last one in the meet and greet line. eveyrone else was gone. The only people left in the room at that point was the potographer and some casino employees and his tour manager thats it. There was no scene. The whole demeanor changed when He heard the phrase Chad, Chad & Pat"

I guess it was a shock to him and not what he expected to hear. However, the bottom line is this. They grew up together, they started a company together, toured the world together and were best friends for many years. No matter what happened they are very forgiving people. They still love their friend and wish him the best. Thats all.
