I don't know. It's not an interview but somebody has set up a video camera to record a discussion between Ed, Chris (his bass player) and a couple of other people. I didn't listen to much of the recording.

to save you watching/listening...ed barely mutters a sound until about 3 minutes in. Chris looks bored shitless, spends a bit of time checking his iphone, the girl talks the most - a lot about classical music (I believe she is a concert pianist), Ed says 'like' a lot, she likes to talk a lot...she mentions religion around the 13 minute mark and Ed comes to life...that pretty much wraps it up.

I'm bored tonight...obviously!

haha I love that interview, completely fumbles and shuts down and becomes as vague as possible with answers. Answers a question of asking for a lead singer bonus with jumping into something about studios being booked and budget issues which make no sense and dont connect with his lack of explanation. Then when the interviewer asks for more clarification we get defensive Ed "I just told you". Oh dear. Its all a mischaracterisation!
"You never asked for extra money?" "No no ........ just to cover budgets" So, what he means is yes, just to cover budgets. I think the explanation came out that it was to help cover studio fees for his solo album (which, wasn't even happening at the time right?). I love how that somehow makes it ok "I wasn't using the money to buy a car, I was using it to cover studio costs so I could make more money out of that venture!"

And the end zinger "I've never done anything dishonest ...... now can we just move on as quickly as possible from this because all this talk of how honest I am is making me extremely uncomfortable, because clearly this is how someone with a clear conscious acts".

That clip is always like a car wreck, you see it poster, you have to watch it, you don't want to, but you can't look away. And then you remember, this is the man that sang on Mental Jewelry. Sigh.

pretty sure this was the reaction on saturday (of course when thrill said he was associates of CCP)....a person with a guilty conscience does this, it's 101

...and furthermore.....there was no line of questioning on what he did.... though ed got uncomfortable.

No its nothing like that, he just wants to talk about his new solo stuff and move on *plays Lightning Crashes*.

Seriously, it was like "Hey Ed, awesome show, great performance, you may not remember me, I am great friends with & Business partners of Chad, Chad & Pat" I was saying this as I was shaking his hand with my arm around his waist. He immediately said "this isnt the time for that, not here" and Im like time for what, I just wanted to say hello from the guys. THATS IT! NO OTHER AGENDA. who knows maybe he felt as if I was going to question him or judge him. I wouldnt and thats not my place.

As I say the mere fact that you mentioned you were friends with them probably put him directly on the back foot and in defensive mode because he was suddenly face to face with someone that knew first hand everything he'd done and everything that had gone on. Like a confrontation of reality and I guess he just flipped. Sad really when that's all it took to set him off.
