The show was a lot of fun. It was more acoustic than full out rock, but I thought the new drummer was pretty intense. The place was packed, and the venue overall was nice.

I didn't attend the meet and greet, so I have no idea what took place. I do know that there were a ton of drunk people at the show, so I can see the possibility of a fan getting out of hand at a meet and greet.

I did see Ed shake Zman's hand from the stage after the show.......very cool!

Why didn't u go to the meet & greet? Didn't want to get snubbed again or avoiding something? I thought you are ed's right hand man?

I don't attend meet and greets every time I see Ed in concert. The last one I attended was in August at Musikfest and it was an awesome experience. I will try to hit 1-2 meet and greets later this year if I can.

The crowd was into the show from the start to finish
he even got some standing ovations from the 1st few rows now and then

the drummer was spot on for such a newbie/with due respect sir, not anywhere in GRACEYS league
but he did a good job playing off ED for such a short stint
The bass player has been with him for awhile now and the bass riffs where fairly layed back
except for a few parts here and there, again no disrespect Chris, good job BUT No one can cover PD's bass!
I didnt really hear any mistakes, but what do I know?
and with out CT, how is it "really" called ROCK?
sitting up front sucks when really trying to hear the overall sound
he played his TAYLOR T5 thumbsup.gif and his Les Paul on some rockier songs,
Opened with The Distance

he is using 2 mics, one has that sound like the song Pumped up Kicks...used it alot!!

I will always like Ed's vocals and have had much inspiration from the man
respect , but without C.C.P ,???
. its just hard to listen to without the other 3 parts especially when played by others/my opinion ( there may only have been 2 people that feel the same at the show, so what do we know)

I said from day one and this is just my opinion and PLEASE do not start shit please....but Ed would have been smart to keep Adam in the band, I have a few opinions why, no biggie, I respect Adams talent and wonderful personality

if I remember anything else, I will let you know uhoh.gif omg.gif

Nick, was that you down the front row, stage right?
thought it was, 2 pretty women with you

I uploaded the vids from Iphone to computer and what do I do but erase them and my puter says , I need updates for photo gallery , does not support format , so maybe no vids??

Here is my review and what happened at the meet and greet afterwards.

First. The show, overall was a good show. Ed's voice was great and strong. He performed!
The drummer didnt do anything spectacular and played it safe. However, on a few songs, he did screw up. Lightning Crashes was one of these songs. It was glaring to me because I have had the luxury to hear the "correct" way this song is meant to be played and have been in the studio with the man himself as he layed down the track. Still to this day he can play it note for note to the album. Gracey is a machine. I'll try to upload the video of one of those sessions and you can see for yourself.
The bass player was also playing safe. He was nowhere near the level of PD and he too skipped some notes on a few songs, again - Lightning Crashes was one of these songs and again, I know exactly how it should sound for the same reasons as the drum parts.

The bass player seemed like a nice guy though, and I didnt interact with the drummer at all.

When your use to hearing Chad, Chad & Pat play +LIVE+ - I'm sorry, everyone else falls short. However, like I said they still were entertaining and the crowd was into it.

Now after the show there was a meet & greet to the side of room. About 50 people were allowed in for that. I was the last person to go up to Ed. I shook his hand and said the following "Ed, great show - you probably dont remember me, however I am good friends & business partners with Chad, Chad & Pat" He looked at me with a puzzled face, then said "This isnt the place for this" I then said "I'm not allowed to have 1 minute of your time" he said "no, this isnt the time or place for this, how about we take a picture" I then said "I dont want a picture" so with that he motioned to the security guard and they asked me to leave the room and I did without incident.

Thats all no big deal. I came in peace, just to say hello and had no bad intentions. As I was walking out the door I did make one last comment. "Take care Ed, the guys say hello and they still love you "

Other than that, the only thing that was major were a few drunk people getting kicked out and those people should have as they were jerks that interupted the show. That is disrespectful. What I did was not disrepectful at all. There as no drama around it at all.

I do know that if someone went up to Chad, Chad or Pat and said the same thing that I said to Ed, but with the roles revered. Chad, Chad & Pat would have spoken to that person and been very gracious.

I have no problem with anyone on this board, however some of the comments are way off base. There are Ed supporters and CCP supporters. Thats fine, we can agree to disagree. This is my take. Its just apparent to me that Ed doesnt want to speak to anyone about anything. So all I am saying is that can you blame anyone if they move on without him. I dont think you can. I think if Ed can go out and be it, him or the venue saying "Ed from Live" or what have you. Well, Chad, Chad & Pat have even MORE rights to do that than Ed as they legally control the name and rights to the "LIVE" corporation if you will.
More music for fans, thats the way I see it.

Actually, I think I was sitting next to Nick, however Zman couldnt confirm if that was him or not. I would have said hello and spoke to him no problem. I think he was to my right with two fine ass lookin woman! Anyone that can surround himself with that kind of talent, well thats OK in my book! Despite his opinions on here. He is entitled to those as I am entitled to mine.

So my recap in a nutshell. Ed was great, band was ok making it a good show. However, if he had three guys named Chad, Chad & Pat well then it would have been an amazing show.

Also, if you see the one pic that zman posted. The drummer is looking at a laptop. That laptop plays backing tracks so they added in some guitars and stuff to give it a bigger sound etc. So even though it was 3 pieces it makes it sound "fuller" Its usually the drummers job to run that. A few times during the show the drummer was having issues with the laptop. However that can be a computer malfunction and not necesssarily that he isnt CHAD GRACEY who is a BEAST! Go listent o Damn at Otter Creek. You think this new guy could play that insane drum part where all it does is get faster and faster. Im not so sure of that.

EARLY. is an understatement. Drums shouldnt come in for at least a minute and a half. give or take a few seconds... However it was definitley a different interpretation. I personally didnt like the heavier tuning of the guitar for that song. I like when they stay as close to the album as possible! It sold over 8 million for a reason....so whay try to change it and make it better. You cant make that song better its a CLASSIC. one of the best songs of all time. Period

Glad to see the reviews of the show. Thank you Thrill for giving us an honest account. What you did was not wrong and no matter what occurs EK will face questions regarding CT, CG, and PD. It doesn't matter what happens these questions will abound and until EK ligitimately moves away from what LIVE is/was. Sure we all can disagree about points here and there, but I think we can all agree we love LIVE and their music we just want it to be properly represented.
