Hence my statement that it's most likely the concert promoters who are doing it. You've been shown the english used is incorrect. Tough to prove it anymore to you though when it's not something you'd accept anyway. I believe each case of using the incorrect verbage is a separate, shall we say incident which can be litigated against.

I love how the very people who complain about me posting in a LIVE thread because I'm "not a fan," are posting in an Ed K thread.

Actually this would be a "Live" issue, that unfortunately is in the EK section of the board. I would believe that this belongs in the "Live" general forums.

You are nothing short of a blithering idiot.

If this was "hey what do you think of Ed's new song", I probably wouldn't bother posting because I couldn't give a damn. But this relates directly to Live, the band that we're all a fan of, draw the lines.

Anyways, it is absolutely beyond my comprehension that you can't see the difference between "Live's Ed Kowalczyk" and "Formerly of Live". Personally I don't see the massive problem as such because Live, Ed and everyone involved is such small fry. But its a "principal of the thing".

If he were billing himself as "formerly of Live" I doubt anyone here would have a problem because it's a factual statement, he was formerly a massive part of Live. As Aitken's said "Live's" implies possession. That he is CURRENTLY "of Live", which he is not. I don't care if you think it's "not a big deal", that's debatable. But it is categorically incorrect and the fact you can't admit to that just shows what a massive problem you have. Would it really hurt you so much to ever go against Ed? "Yeah I admit he probably shouldn't be billed that way because it's not true, but I don't think it really matters". That is not such a difficult sentence to have to spill out. But nope, Ed does no wrong. I'm sure you just look at it as "good for business".

Seriously, Live - this band about spiritualism, with songs like Mirror Song and your mind is constantly on promotion, money, advertising, what the public thing etc.. I really hope when you see Ed that you don't sing along to the words of "Mirror Song" and pretend that you even begin to have a clue as to what it means.

If LIVE 2.0 every starts up, it will be more beneficial for Ed to bill himself as Ed Kowalczyk, former lead singer of LIVE. Otherwise, people may think he is still with LIVE. Until then, I see know problem with LIVE's Ed Kowalczyk, since LIVE 2.0 has not been officially announced and have no immediate touring plans.

Ed is the lead singer of Live until they perform without him. According to their facebook page they have a performance scheduled this spring - so it brings this wording to the forefront.

I don't know what the legal issue would be but personally I think it would be professional of him to adjust the wording and make sure that promoters understand they are expected to also.

I put it here because it's about Ed and his tour. I'm sure this isn't just posters either, it probably applies to commercials, ads, and appearances. Ed is no longer a member of Live and and how his is billing himself has no connection to what Live is currently doing.

Last touring season really wasn't a big deal, but it appears that Live will be doing some shows and if the band is again active without him I see the issue a little differently than before.

Also - this thread isn't about you Nick. Please share your opinion, but this is a general question to everyone asking their opinion of what they think is "right". This was meant to hold a discussion, not to start FOL War XXXII. Everyone's correct answer will depend on how they view the issue.

I actually voted no by accident in the poll .

New LIVE didn't officially announce a show on Facebook or even their new singer yet. They are a complete nonentity.

Who cares? You're the only one making this stupid stipulation.

Nope, no mention of Ed Kowalczyk. Looks like he's not current member of Live. Guess he's going to have the be "Formerly of Live".

Yes he will, clinging to the past successes, all while lying to everyone and telling them that he's moved on, and he's focused on his solo career.

Um, what do you think CCP are doing trying to bring back LIVE?

The difference is that they aren't lying to everyone. They don't go around telling everyone that they've moved on, and that they're focused on their solo career.

I know, you won't get it. Take off your Kowalczyk jaded glasses, please, just once.

From LIVE's Facebook:

+LIVE+ are back, having just returned from a two year hiatus. Our boys will be hitting the studio by the end of summer to start work on their new album.

Where is the mention of the new lead singer? Deception at work.
