To me the music the past 10 years is a byproduct of a fractured band dynamic to root of which was Ed's egomaniacal ways. You don't have to agree with me. My opinion has been shaped by what I witnessed, and what I've heard through band members, family member, crew members, close friends, etc. I've never heard any of these people speak in favor of Ed. In all the years I've followed this band I've never heard one person other than a fan come to his defense or offer up any explanation for all of the stuff we've heard. The manner in which he conducted himself came off disrespectful in my opinion. I only present this as fact in that I know what I witnessed and I trust quite a bit of what I've heard as told through others very close to the situation. Much of it has been shared over the years in a public forum so it's reasonable for someone to think that about Ed. Does it make it undisputed fact in the eye of the law. I guess not, but who gives a shit other than you. Like I said, others just agree to disagree.

Live should've broken up 10 years ago; CCP is just as guilty as Ed in that regard

As I've mentioned in other threads, I've heard first hand from their tour bus driver about Ed's egotistical ways. This isn't just something that one person made up, it's coming from many different sources.

From the one time I met the band I can say this. CCP were all incredibly kind and had time for everybody. I was actually very surprised. Pat even gave my pregnant wife a pat on the stomach. Ed came out long after CCP had mingled for a good thirty minutes. I tried to talk to him and he just sort of moved from person to person as quickly as he could. He wouldn't look you in the eye much less stop and chat. He couldn't have been more disinterested. I talked to each of CCP for at least 5 minutes and then I more or less broke off the conversation because I felt like I was the one taking too much of their time. I could see other people wanted their time too. I thanked them for the show and for taking the time to chat.

Just another piece of the puzzle.

What can I say, I witnessed some of the same things as FOW with EK in the past. It doesn't matter however because the ones arguing for EK's point of view are one in the same with him. Most of these people are egotistical megalomaniacs who get their rocks off coming here to argue incessantly to feel as though they have some kind of delusional control of this place. The truth is that EK is tarnishing his own musical legacy performing with subpar musicians, changing the lyrical meaning of the songs he help create, and in general throwing his most ardent supporters(his band mates, crew, and most of us early fans) from the past under the bus. I know that the EK that changed my point of view with his lyrics on DOAD's Good Pain has grown and changed like all of us, but unlike EK most of us have never forgotten our roots. LIVE has always been different than most bands in that this group was formed organically between four guys who grew up together. I realize we all change and that is fine, but through that growth I've seen 3 guys who have become better more well rounded individuals, while the other fourth of this band grow distant, corporately polished, and lost within himself. I wanted to see our band reunited as much as anyone, but not for the sake of just being together that would have essentially been an Alive album part 2.

The entire band was very nice the two times I met them. Met Ed in 97 and again 2003ish. Nice guy both times but was not in a meet and greet situation.

Not being a meet and greet would be understandable if they just wanted time to themselves, if Ed shrugged me off as I spotted him walking down the street, it'd be annoying that manners and just politeness were not present, but I wouldn't hold it against him for that. If its an organised meet and greet then the sort of way he acted towards a lot of people is pretty poor. Of course not everyone will have that experience as you obviously didn't. But I've heard that same story from a lot of people regarding meet and greets over the years.

I was floored when Gracey approached me and introduced himself, almost assuming people wouldn't even know who he was, humble beyond words.

Yeah that was in 1997. That's a far cry from the Ed we put up with for the last 10 years. That was back when he actually appreciated the fans, and not just their spent money.

By the way, without CT coming up with that signature guitar part, LJ would have never been.

I am pretty sure Ed came up with that part and being the golden child he is let CT have the credit for it. Also I am fairly certain Ed invented the guitar. After all he is the driving force of everything ever.

Can you imagine the lyrics to Lakini's Juice if CT came to Ed with that guitar riff TODAY and Ed was to put lyrics to it?!?! We all saw what he did with "Believe" ahem, I mean "Honest Man". Lakini's Juice would be a total joke if that awesome guitar riff had some cheesy lyrics about how Jesus is right there, driving behind the wheel of Ed's life, across the stormy waters, on their way to Zion, with Ed's kids riding in the back seat drinking coffee. "It was an evening I shared with the Lord..." Gag.

It was an evening I shared with the Lord
To worship is his love
From the earliest days
We were born from his likeness

More wine
Cause he has to bless it
More bread
Cause we have to embrace it

Inside the church
By the river
Used to be so cold
Used to be so lost
I rushed the pulpit
Took the water onto my face
Washed my sins and blessed my name
More peace
Such a loving habit

Slow down, love the Lord

Let me rejoice
Let me rejoice
Save my soul
Let me rejoice

It was an evening I shared with the Lord
To worship is his love
From the earliest days
We were born from his likeness

Slow down, love the lord

Let me rejoice
Let me rejoice
Save my soul
Let me rejoice.
