if someone can have such an extreme, life changing response to seeing a religious artifact, i think it was bound to happen anyway. Seems the guy was just a ticking bomb for religious fanaticism, and we're lucky we got him in his pre-conversion years before it actually ate his brains.

I know a lot of people have ill opinions of Christianity and religion in general, and not just because of what it has been perceived to have done to Ed, but attempt to judge Christ, Christianity, and religion on its own merits... not because of some flaky rock star.

QUOTE(pizan0 @ Dec 18 2011, 10:56 am) *

You have to acknowledge a higher power everytime you sing/write a song?

Switchfoot aren't a Christian band then. Neither are Jars Of Clay, according to that logic.

Either this (Ed's foray into "Christian music") is a ploy for Ed to stay relevant in some form or fashion... or Ed has some misunderstandings about his newfound faith and how it relates to music.

QUOTE(Hoodstock @ Dec 20 2011, 12:19 pm) *

Religion, meant to bring peace, is actually the great divider of the world.

Actually, truth is the the great divider of the world. Even lies can bring/keep people together (which is what kept the old Live together longer than it should've been) but truth is what, so to speak, "separates the wheat from the chaff." And truth is black and white, eventually dividing all truth from all lies. It's us who get our paint brushes out and try to fade it to grey.

Now, the truth of whether religion is good for the world or bad for the world is for another discussion...
