Daughtry is a douche, he sang Walk the Line (Live's version) and didn't credit them, he got caught and then had to fess up. Daughty is everything that is wrong with the music industry. American Idol shit. When Live was on there, I yawned very hard, I actually felt bad for them. I knew those guys probably did it as a last gasp.

WHO LISTENS to DAUGHTRY??

can you name one tune?

do you own a cd??

NO NO AND NO! strawberry.gif

I can see, as Pokey so eloquantly laid out, Daughtry's Idol moments (Live) did rub off on Ed and this became a source of how Ed chose to go on from there. It's also around the same time, he really became unbearable as a frontman, same time the secret contract was being devised and executed.

QUOTE(Live4Life @ Dec 29 2011, 2:43 pm) *

Again, I laugh in your face. JUST because a band has some gold and platinum does not mean they are a good band. They are not even a band. They are a couple of clowns that think they can rap. Acknowledge that jackass. strawberry.gif

That sad reality, is that ICP has had a much better decade from 2000 to 2010 than +Live+

Unlike Ed, they know their fanbase and they cater to them. The stuff that made their fans like them in 1994 or whatever, they are still doing. Live did things in 1994 that we loved and then they changed. As a result they fell nearly over the map. Completely had it not been for Throwing Copper being so well known that it kept them known more than a decade later.

That said, and I'm probably going to discredit myself, but I like ICP. I'm not a "Juggalo" or any of that. I find their content entertaining, not specifically as music, as some of it's funny, some of it's weird. That's the important distinction. Live, TGF, Ed is music, ICP isn't music but rather entertainment. When you look at it from that angle, IMO, you should see them as something other than just a shitty rap group with paint. Regardless of what you see them as, they have been more successful than Live the last decade. Your subjective opinion is irrelevant. More people prefer ICP to Ed K. That's not an opinionated statement, that is a factual objective statement based upon music sales. End of story.

ICP did rap, remember when Ed went all Fred Durst in 2001? How many of us liked that unsufferable shit? I am sure not many.

You guys remember the video of Ed, Fred and Paris Hilton together outside some club from the early 2000's. EK was wearing his cowboy hat.

Ed wore the cowboy hat in the artwork/promo shots for TDTH. Made me cringe a bit.

I had a copy of it years ago - I'll take a look through my collection and see if I can find it.

The reality is that I am so fucking tired of all this Ed talk, my wish for 2012 is that +LIVE+ moves on and the fans who REALLY support them as well do the same. Ed is so far gone now and has no intentions on returning and as far as I am concerned I hope he never does. Anyone who believes that what Ed is doing now in anyway represents what +LIVE+ is/was then you are delusional at best. The lines have been drawn either get on board or get out of the way.......if you believe in what +LIVE+ is then support +LIVE+ not the hack Christian youth group praise band with it's ego maniacal self serving front man. HAPPY NEW YEARS!
