Haha you're priceless. Daughtry was a Live fan but instead he "Idol'ed" up the Live songs. He sang Live in the style of Idol, that generic pop-rock crap. Ed saw this and went "whoa that's what the kids want these days I should be doing it like that! $$$". And so the roles became reversed and now Ed wants to be more like Daughtry than the other way around.

I still don't know how you can't think of Ed selling phone calls to himself and then go back and watch the MTV unplugged video and realise how far he's fallen. The man from the MTV unplugged days would never draw a shitty stick figure and try to sell it for way more than its worth. Can you not understand how that man we all loved is gone and now there is someone new fronting Live who will attempt to bring the spirit back of the band we loved and understand we are excited to hear that. The man that fronts Live should not be selling phone calls to himself, that is NOT what live waa ever about. Surely you can understand this.

It's simple that if Live's first album was SFBM and none of their 90s stuff existed I'd not even give them the time of day. They'd be nothing and shit to me. That Live, the Live Ed turned them into is not what so many fans that fell in love with MJ and TC want. I don't want my music to be treated like a product and like a brand and that is exactly what Ed makes it look like with his solo stuff like his phone calls and stick figures. Being a lover of music, I can't follow a guy who wants to lead a band by doing that.

Enter Chris Shinn (or Fred, Donald or Rufus or whoever is singing) what they're offering is not the same as Ed could give in 1995, but they're offering to front 3/4 of the original band who want to give us the style of music that so many of us fell in love with. He's trying to reignite the spirit of that sound. It's not going to be the same as back then, it CAN'T be. But for gods sake I'll take that any day over "LOL BUY MY COFFEE BEANS HERE'S JESUS! Ooooo yeah child". That fronting Live is an abomination, he's so far gone from what made so many people fall in love with him that it may as well just be a different person all together.

So again, if you don't like what Live is doing, fine, move on and focus on the music you do like, whether that be Ed or someone else, do so, listen to your old Live CDs and lament about their demise. But let's just continue on from here with the people who WANT to be on this ride. If the Live of SFBM is what you want and liked and you'd love to see Ed front Live as he is now then listen to his solo stuff. That's what he's offering you and leave us in peace.

In fairness to Daughtry (who I actually don't mind at all), I think he's supposed to have credited Live with the IWTL arrangement but that got cut in editing. Or something to that effect.
