I have some bands to add to my list.....

Green Day
Red Hot Chili Peppers

Of the bands I listed...

Foo Fighters, and Green Day have their original lineups. Red Hot Chili Peppers have gone through guitarists like Anthony Kiedis went through heroin needles in the 90's. Pearl Jam went through a run of drummers, but ended up going back to a guy that they knew all along in Matt Cameron.

As for TGF, musically, it was top notch. If you want to say they failed at anything, it was promotion, and getting attached to either a major label, or major tour. However, they did it their way, the way they wanted to do it. They wanted to keep it on their label, and have the control, so you can't say they failed in that aspect.

Live progressively became more and more pathetic as the 2000's went on. I remember seeing them sell out stadiums in 95 and 97, then saw half empty stadiums, and then half empty amphitheaters in their own hometown area at shows I attended. If you can't sell out your hometown venues, there are issues that need to be addressed. Unfortunately, those issues were addressed 10 years too late.

The bigger question is why don't you just fucking piss off and enjoy Ed and leave us, Live, TGF and CCP in peace so that we can enjoy it without you spinning as much BS as possible around here about why it'll be such a failure. Do you not see what a douche you come off as reveling in the reasons why you think someone will fail. We know you think it'll fail, some people think it won't, and other people just don't care and want the music. Go get psyched about Ed's new album and go away.

I don't think anyone is part of TGF anymore.

Why do you think TGF are dead? They're doing a contest. They're playing a show. It hasn't even been a year since they stopped touring.

There are too many attenuated circumstances to really make these comparisons.

He can't wrap his head around people being in more than one band or having more than one project happening at once, bands putting things on the back burner for a bit and then going back to them later, variables in life that mean plans change and alter.
He's been told a hundred times they're not dead, they've told us they're not dead so the only logical conclusion to be drawn is that he's either a complete and utter moron or he's just spewing crap in a hateful way. Either way, people wonder why he gets a bad wrap around here sarcasm.gif

Candlebox are releasing a new album in 2012. The next time you can probably expect something substantial from TGF is maybe 2014.

The band was only active for around 6 months. In order for a new band to make it, they typically have to work and dedicate themselves to that one goal. Kevin Martin took up and left before TGF could get themselves off the ground.

Sure, but they're still doing things. I think when a band is dead, they really just don't do anything. If they come back in 2014, that sounds fine. Plenty of bands take years off between albums. Maybe if Live and Candlebox make some waves, it could bring more attention to TGF if they decide to re-release another album or tour again.

The fact you keep harping on and on about this shit, about a band you have told us you don't like, I don't get why you continue to follow tgf and new live's movements when nothing apparently brings you any joy. Are you a sadist? The only explanation I can come up with is that it brings you some level of joy to see them (from your point of view) fail. If that is not the case, then why continue to follow these groups when the only element that you liked from them has been removed. Why not follow that removed element and leave the rest of us to enjoy what we enjoy, in peace?

Do you read the Ed threads at FansofLive?
