Wow, just heard the new version just released. Whoever shared it, thanks! It's good, really good. the band is super tight, plenty of energy coming from these guys. I like the new singer. Don't mind that he doesn't sound like Ed, not sure anyone can epect him too. Regardless, he's talented and if chemistry develops, I'm all for it. Minus the 6-foot long shit sandwich Nick brought to the party, I'm glad I turned on my computer tonight.

Dispite Nick's total diregard and disrespect for the other three members of the band, Taylor is what excites me about the band. If Taylor's writing music for Live again-then I likey. His writing on TGF shows huge promise. Thanks Santa!

I'm not trying to engage in the "there is falsetto, no there's not, nanny nanny poo poo" argument - because it's Christmas.

Merry Christmas!!!!

(also, I've seen ed 4 times solo - that's the most horrible version of All Over You I've ever seen, and his voice cracks during his attempted falsetto, just sayin' that sucked - and that makes me like the new version even more, probably because it reminds me of what the song is supposed to sound like)

anyway, Merry Christmas! smile.gif thumbsup.gif

I really don't care what it was... it sucked a long green donkey turd regardless.

Ed has forgotten the mores that made him successful: less is more. In his case, less would be one HELL of a lot more.

not sure what you mean by less is more. not sure that ed necessarily forgot anything. i think he's just plain not as good as he used to be.

Not a fan of that Ed video to be honest. It's not terrible all over, but it certainly feels stripped of a certain authenticity and weight. He now performs it just as a 'hit' and an excuse to gyrate his hips and whatever. There's no art to it anymore in his performance. In some ways I could excuse this given that he must have performed it like ten million times. But then on the other hand he doesn't seem to be trying at all, instead happy to bask in it all.

I don't know. What I do know, however, is that the new LIVE version of AOY is much superior to Ed's version.

I think you are confusing me with the movie producing, label starting, record producing, real estate developing, radio hosting, multiple band starting friends you have.

Which sure as shit is better than the branding coffee with pics of your kids, cheap jewelry making, lame abstract stick figure drawing, phone conversation selling friend that you only dream you had.

Let's be real, OTD has some actual connection to the band. Ned only dreams of holding Ed's sac while Ed takes a shit so his balls don't touch the cold porcelain.

LIVE is still one of the top active touring bands from the 90's. This new version will definately hurt that status. While a new version of LIVE probably can probably outdraw Ed and TGF just on name value alone, long term the crowds will dwindle as many fans won't want to see the band without the original singer.

Hey dude, we don't care smile.gif
Go listen to some music that you like, we'll listen to music we like and lets stop treating music like something to be branded and marketed to the public. That'd be nice!

You will care if the new LIVE is handled in such a way that prevents the band from being a successful touring band.

If you haven't noticed asstard a proper reunion tour isn't happening anytime soon and possibly never unless they get really desperate.

Live's last few albums have been a joke mostly due to the fact that Ed was steering the ship with little input from anybody else. For the majority of us that started following this band for the music they put out in the 90's, that clip of the new All Over You brings promise that the band can get back to those roots. The best music LIVE ever made (in my humble opinion) was when the entire band was engaged in the creative process. Once Ed took over sole responsibility and started singing about dolphins, fish, love, and his daughter things really went to shit and LIVE was no longer the rock band that they once were.

Also I don't know why you get so concerned with who will outsell who. Nickelback will outsell the combination of the new LIVE, TGF, Eddie K 100 fold but their music sucks. I hope the new LIVE and TGF can become successful financially but all I really want is them to keep making rock music and none of this Christian pop music.

Here is to the success of any new ventures C, C and P undertake.

Nick, go back to staring at your Justin Bieber poster, singing Lady Gaga songs, worshipping Ed, and how about for your New Years resolution you stick to posting in the Eddie K threads since he is not part of the new LIVE or TGF!

I don't think anyone is part of TGF anymore.

No they are not.

The list starts with Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, and Dave Matthews Band, and Live hasn't even been in their ballpark in 10+ years.

As much as it hurts to say this as a fan, Live hasn't been relevant in a long time. They're the band that most people ask who, then they say something like, "oh yeah that lightning song". They've reached this low point because of the shit music that's been put out for the last 10 years.

LIVE was never in their ballpark(outside of 95-97). LIVE were one the more successful touring acts of the 90's still going, but not of the elite class that you mentioned. LIVE may have been the only band from the 90's with its original lineup still intact.

If Ed was the sole problem, why wasn't The Gracious Few more successful than they were?

No I won't, a new album that I enjoy a lot will be plenty for me, if they tour down here that'll be fantastic, if they don't then I'll see other bands that I like. That's the thing, bands that I LIKE. why don't you spend more time worrying about the bands you like as opposed to the ones you don't.
