he's much more likely to be singing "its easier not to be wise..." instead if the start to Vine Street if these clips are any indication; def not giving up hope just really prefer they play the Born Brandeds and Don't Waits of the catalog instead of the hits

I could see this being a possibility. Play some songs that are great but that weren't played all that much in concert. You would still get many of the hits but maybe not quite as many.

Hearing songs like Vine Street or Don't Wait in concert would almost be like hearing new material to some extent. It'd be like a mix of old and new if that makes sense. It is old music but new to hear because we haven't heard it in concert. Could be interesting.

Sounds good to me!

Guys - Ed is gone, so it's never going to be just like Ed. If you want Ed he's coming out with a new album next year.

As for Live moving on with a new lead singer, I like the sound they are going with at this point.

All of you doubters need to go find your Throwing Copper cd, and listen to All Over You. Then go find a bootleg anywhere from 2000 and on. You would be lying to yourself if you hear the same emotion in the voice, that you heard on Throwing Copper.

Its nowhere close.

That being said, it was enjoyable. Those of you acting like its the second coming, I'm not so sure what you are hearing but its cool that you are excited.

Ed is gone to me, has been for a long time. Unfortunately, Live has been gone too. I'd love for them to be back. I hope they will be. To me, that rendition of All Over You does not capture the vocal essence of the original. It has nothing to do with wanting it to sound like Ed. It's like when CT said of the Chester Bennington version of I Alone, that's how the song should be sung. I'm not so sure this version of AOY is done that way. Just my opinion. I'd be curious to hear other Live tunes where the vocals should be belted out, like WD or LJ, or most of the early stuff. No doubt CS is a great singer, probably better "singer" than Ed was back in the day. But those songs need to be belted out a certain way and I hope CS can do it. That's what the songs need.

Did he take the song to a new place, or just try to do an inferior copy of Ed's original vocals? It is a much lesser version of a classic song.

You can hear the song sung like by that most cover artists. This will fall very flat in concert.

That's comical at best. Compared to pretty much any bootleg from 2000 to present, the new version is a much better version.

Also, this seems to be a studio recording that has been cleaned up quite a bit in post production. I am more interested in hearing an actual live recording of him covering LIVE.

This isn't a bootleg though, this is a cleaned up recording by the band. That said, this will be compared by most fans to the 1994 original, and it will fall well short.

some people are going to get wrapped around the axle regarding if it's on par with Ed singing the 'cleaned' up studio version. I can say this recording was re-recorded from scratch. It's got the old 94-95 sounding Live emotion. No can dispute, no one can compare the 2001-2009 All Over You and other hits.....they fall well short of when Ed could sing em in his own way based on when they came out. He can't sing that way anymore. Let's face it. Be honest with yourself, get some recordings of concerts, compare em (as Aitkens has asked the naysayers to do), contrast them......see what you'd rather hear. It's not going to be the same, that's not the intention. The point is.......No strings, creative freedom, ability to relive a little Live in the current day without the falsetto, ego, drama. Give the artists some respect that it's their band and if you don't care to follow, you have a choice not to. Bieber, Nickelcrack and Lady Gaga are waiting for your dollars.

You don't get it at all. It's about the emotion behind the voice. There's emotion in this version. You can hear it 100% in the voice. It's not some asshole going through the motions, which include ruining it with his falsetto games.

I don't hear emotion in this recording, I hear a guy trying to copy an earlier sound. Maybe Shinn will have emotion in the songs he will help create with LIVE, but his voice sounded like a mediocre Ed imitation in this cover.

Not only are you an idiot, but apparently you're a deaf idiot.

Just walk away. You are not a fan of Live. Go troll your Ed board. You don't get it, you never well, and you are a lost cause.

It falls short just like Ed falls short playing Live tunes with his house band.

The original will never be duplicated, but when the rest of you finally accept what happened between Ed and the band then maybe you will be able to appreciate the efforts they are all making to carry on.

Say what you want, but I know 100% that this new version is better compared to any version that's done by Eddie and the K's.
