It was a great cover, but I prefer their cover of "Love My Way" by The Psychedelic Furs or "Running to Stand Still" by U2.

The only Live cover of Imagine that I thought was really good was the first one that I remember surfacing in the community.

Never liked the song Imagine, not even Live's version could change that for me.
But their other covers, good god they're good. Love My Way and Supernatural especially.

The Imagine cover was always just ok to me. It wasn't the entire band, and I never really got into it.

Now Supernatural and Love My Way were 2 faves though.

The cover of Dusted by guided by voices was also great.

I've said it before but Live are amazing at covers. Some covers people do are just carbon copies of the original and you wonder what the point is. Other times people stray too far from the original which sometimes you can pull off but most often not. Ed has such a unique sounding voice that he has to do very little to make the song sound different and unique. CCP being such quality writers of music are able to craft the songs so well.
This is why I believed the only way Live could have been a hit again is through a cover album.
They were obviously going nowhere with the calibre of songs being written under the Ed "dear leader" Kowalczyk regime, so why not take already proven successful songs and make them their own?

I can't think of one bad cover Live did, Imagine to me only because I don't like the original song, but Live's cover was still good. Imagine an album full of the calibre of songs like Supernatural, Love my way, running to stand still, all along the watchtower, dusted, bitter sweet symphony etc... Songs people already know and love that wouldn't be bastardized but rather being brought to them by undeniable talent. Now a cover album for the sake of popularity usual screams desperate to me, but if they wanted to make their mark again to me that's what should have been in place of SFBM
