I know that I should think about giving
And think about
Helping out
And think about
Think about living
But I can't seem to rescue myself

What about my bank account
And my holy desert shield
That keep me dry under the arms?
Flags and mental jewelry's all I know
And they keep my happy and warm inside

So I said unto this man
"Who are you and where do you come from?"
And he proceeded to tell me many things

But I said nothing at all

For the flowers in the corner, by the room,
In the window, and the sun
Said it all

At least they said they would
Said they could
Mama said they would
Do me good

Thanks Jeremy! rockin.gif

Your welcome Z. This performance caught the essence of a young band on the edge of making it, but sometimes you wander what "it" really is/was. I'd pay anything to have the band back like it was in this moment the happiness and youthful spirit was amazing. I realize that the band changed greatly post TDTH, but I want our band back. I know people change and times change, but LIVE was different in that it was a band that wasn't put together by a corporate machine, but came together organically. Apparently however corporate greed came in play and took over and took at least one member away from the equation. I often wonder if he can even listen to his own lyrics.

The video was from the short lived Dennis Miller Show in 1992. The show was syndicated through local TV markets and was Miller's first venture away from Saturday Night Live. I found the video on Youtube, but used to have a VHS copy of the show in my personal archives.

That was a performance on the Dennis Miller show. Live also performed Operation Spirit on the same night.

Great video, yes!

"What about my bank account And my holy desert shield .... Tadatadaaa?!" *weird face*

The thing that grabs me each time is how they are so inspiring at such a young age. Very good performance!

Mirror Song. My favorite song ever. Like a condensed little nugget of eternal wisdom. A mediation in the form of music. A shining example of what Live was.

Ahh, the memories, sweet memories. Saw them several times on the MJ tour. Had a real special feel to what was going on that lasted all the way through the TC tour. When the band came back with the SS tour they were a bit different having been influenced by their rock stardom. Still awesome though. But man those early shows, they really were that earnest. Just awesome. smile.gif

I think Mirror Song has been performed consistently well throughout the span of Live. One of the best.

Although it is bullshit that it wasn't on the Paradiso CD.
