he mentioned world vision twice during the show & told the same story he told in a recent interview about getting water for his daughters. It was really cool the way he asked everyone to check out the world vision table & honestly I'm surprised only 12 other ppl signed up cuz there were a ton of ppl checking it out.

A lot of people will check it out but sometimes a commitment of around $30 a month for a year is more than someone can take on financially.

I give Ed a lot of credit for doing this and it's been fun to see on his FB updates how many people sign up at each gig. A lot of good is coming from his efforts and the effort of the fans that are able and willing to step up and take on a child in need like this.

Call me an asshole, but I'd rather donate my money and time to a local charity. Help the people in your local area and it will only help to make your local area a better place.

no you're totally not an asshole (at least not for this reason heynow.gif ). & you're right about helping out locally. I give a lot of my time to local efforts, so I decided to give some money to a distant one. It's cool to give whatever/whenever though... Every little bit counts.

Yeah, so help out locally and give a shit about your own backyard basically??

People in your own area have clean water to drink and are able to attend school as a luxury.

How about helping out a child with no clean water, or water that is rife with disease. How about helping out a child who hasn't eaten in a week and is starving to death, going to bed in pain and tears out of hunger.

This help out in your own area mentality is exactly what's wrong with people today. Society is so fucking demented it's sickening. Yeah, lets help only our own and fuck everybody else, especially those a thousand times less fortunate than the one in "my area" So that it may make where I live a better place. What an unbelieveable asshole.

I think those who are willing to donate time, money, or both to help others in need are to be applauded/appreciated. There is nothing wrong with the helping out locally mentality or wanting to alleviate suffering in other less-fortunate parts of the world. Both have merit.

The criticisms should be directed more to those who can't see the value in halping others. Those who are so into themselves and their own comfort level that they cannot take pleasure in knowing they impacted positively someone else's life.

One in every 100 people is thought to be a psychopath. So statistically speaking, there's probably one on this board...

Does anybody know whether Ed raised enough money to dig a well in Zambia? Ed said a documentary was supposed to be released in Spring of 2011 regarding his trip to Africa but I haven't heard anymore about it...

Maybe it's getting packaged together with the Churchbox Sessions!

Ed Kowalczyk (Ed K.) I love you all. My company will be writing a check for 5,500$ to World Vision that represents the total profit, so far, from the Grace CD's that you have purchased on my website and on the road. This 5,500$ has the angels of Heaven singing, and this I know for sure. Our Father Who Art In Heaven told me so, and He spoke it to my heart. :-) God Bless You and Thank you!

Nice of the gift to the world org but this post is totally Tebowesque. He is now Peter Hewson's preacher.
