I've always loved the phrase "bang the shit out of". Sounds like a good thing, but when you think about it, its probably very messy.

Live and their current material/direction is a pretty good fit for Idol though

I agree. I'm not sure why anyone would be surprised if this does turn out to be true. It's the exact direction they are headed in and apparently they are happy to be doing so.

My guess is that they were asked to perform with Chris when he was still on the show. I would assume that the people on American Idol would want to have these type of things set up a few weeks ahead of time so that they don't have to go scrambling for something last minute and risk messing up their plans. Seeing as how Chris was one of the last people to go, and was a heavy favorite to make it to the end, it's no surprise that Live would think of a "potential" appearance as pretty much set in stone.

I highly doubt a Live/Chris performance would happen when Chris is not even on the show anymore. But those are just my two cents.

What I don't understand is why Ed continues to bash American Idol at the recent concerts but then (supposedly) plans to actually go on to the show. Seems quite contradictory to me. huh.gif

Go figure how this would look if he went on stage at Am Idol and started bashing it on air rockin.gif lol.gif

Anyway I can not watch it...Heh.....I would def. want to at least hear an mp3 of it later

They come back on at the end ( the 10 finalists) The calls were made on the Friday after Chris got voted out.

That's cool! I was wondering if this had all been scheduled prior to Chris leaving. If the calls were made after Chris was eliminated, then it's almost certain they'll perform on the show. I just hope it's the whole band performing, and not just a Chris and Ed duet. nervous.gif

Last year all the 10 or 12 finalists performed together in a long medley, with each contestant performing with a famous artist. I can see someone doing a soft ballad, and when it ends the spotlight moves over to Live w/ Ed and Chris in the front, and Ed softly sings "1-2-3-4- it's easier not to be wise and measure these things by your brains".. then Chris: [crowd cheers] "I sank into Eden with you, alone in the church by and by".

As for Ed contradicting himself over supporting American Idol, I can only assume he stopped bashing the show after he actually watched an episode when he heard Chris was a Live fan. It's usually the people that don't watch the show who bash it the most.

I've heard Ed say in an interview that he didn't watch American Idol and that we wasn't 'into it', but thought Chris was a talented singer. That's hardly bashing. What else did Ed say about the show?

He told the audience at 1 or 2 concerts this year that they should boycott American Idol because it'll be the downfall of Western Society, or something like that. I'm sure it was meant more as tongue in cheek, but who knows..

How can LIVE be on American Idol Tuesday night plus have a concert at the same time? I know that they are playing in California, but I think the show airs the same time they would play on AI. Right?

I think they could easily do it. Right after they perform on stage, they could take a short limo ride, have a few beers, and make it in time for their show.

Concert starts at 8:00, American Idol is filmed at 5:00 and ends at 7:00 (I believe it is a two-hour episode for the finale). Assuming the two venues are near each other, it is possible, though would be a bit of a rush.

It is true. Ed, not Live, will be performing side-by-side with Chris on the episode to be aired on Wednesday the 24th. More details to come!

Ed was on XM Ethel the other day and he was talking about Chris and actually said they were watching and hoping he would win. And now he talks to Chris a lot and is giving him a lot of pointers about how to take care of his voice with vitamins and other things Ed uses. He also said he won't have a tough time making it big as a rock star. He also heard the rumor about Fuel wanting him as their front man.
