even I am getting a bit impatient
its ok to SPARK interest, but as I know from my snowmobile website
I in the past have said I was going to do this or that
and when I didnt do it, I got called out,
now I dont open my mouth unless I can do what i say I am going to do in under 30 days
30 days is enough build up, but after that
you better get your shit in gear
they could LAUNCH the site,.
put up pics of studio work, road trips., old pics
I have some AWESOME ideas of what they could be doing...
would REALLY get people even more fired up
BUT.....over 60 days and nothing doing is NOT THE ANSWER
and I am one of the BIGGEST supporters out there
I am not going to lie and not speak up if somehting is wrong
and this is wrong
LAUNCH THE SITE!!, post stuff, get the interest of your people
and KEEP it +ALIVE+

Chad Taylor and maybe Chad Gracey are the victim of their own desire to please their fans and their own excitement about what they are working on. I get that. I love them for it. You see what they are thinking every step of the way. But the person frothing with excitement about projects should not be the person with his finger on the proverbial button. They lack the measured and deliberate thought process that is necessary to make sure that fan expectations are not consistently dashed by a failure to follow though on a reasonable timeline (or not follow through at all). There should be a dispassionate marketing and promotion professional who publicly orchestrates and announces these things because a professional knows how to manage fan expectations and conduct public relations in a way that meets the needs and expectations of the fans outside the loop and comports with established PR principals. Or at least there should be someone else consulted whenever they make any of these public announcements. The Churchbox sessions were supposed to be released last holiday. TGF was going to tour in the Summer or the Fall and release another album by now. The Live website has been on the launching pad for months. Those comments about Ed, regardless of how CCP actually felt inside, can never be undone. Almost every "big" announcement has resulted in a let-down. OutToDry, I appreciate what you are doing. But you have to realize that you have a slightly biased and distorted view of what's going on because you have one foot on the inside, and when you spout the company line and gloss over legitimate, constructive comments made by fans, it starts to resemble the blind cheerleadership that Nick displays for Ed, and you chip away at your own street cred. It makes you sound like the Rush Limbaugh of Live and TGF fans. You're better than that. I'd rather not here an announcement unless they can actually deliver it in the time-frame and manner in which they announce it.

I said all these points everyone is making, have plenty of merit. They do, social media must also be taken with tempered excitement. See what I wrote in the Phillipine thread (last post). As a fan, I want what you want. I steer the board to not fall into the propaganda of a certain member here who is not a real +live+ fan.

unless it's legal BS , I would launch it, dont need to have the new singer announced yet (whoever the lucky son of a bitch is ), then you could post Blogs of work being done with some pictures and teaser vids, past videos of the band , maybe some behind the scene videos, put the product up for sale and make $$, even a once a week update would be sweet at this time and keep the spark aflame, there are alot of things to make the site rock NOW TURN IT ON!!!!!!!!!!
