I agree with Hoodie too. They need to be smarter about these moves. About the comments about Ed. About promises and announcements about Live and TGF. This is why celebrities have PR people - to control the message in a professional, well-orchestrated way. These guys let their excitement and big ideas get out in front of them and then it looks bad time after time to the audience because they really don't do a very good job of planning and orchestrating their marketing and their projects. Relating properly with the fans is a part of the job and they need to work on doing it better. I'm sorry, but it needs to be said. It is a coincidence that Hoodie posted this and in the website thread because just yesterday I was saying to myself that I have almost lost interest at this point. My enthusiasm has died down and my participatin here ( and the activity in general on this board) has calmed down.

True, true, but nobody here denies there are enough other things to be excited about. It's just that all this delay makes people losing interest in the new LIVE, which is too bad.

All these comments are valid, however, they are working on all this stuff...there isn't a team of hundreds doing it. If they missed the mark, its certainly ok to contact them and volunteer your expert time, gratis of course. Spoiled race we are.

If they never said anything and we were bitching then that is a different story. I wouldn't call it being spoiled when the root of our frustration is we are told one thing and something else happens. Especially if it happens regularly and especially if we paid money (Homespun) and keep getting the same old song and dance.

It's all good though. Cornell released 4 songs from his upcoming album via iTunes. What a concept. Not much going on? Release a handful of songs! And these aren't even b-sides that have been sitting on a shelf for over a decade! Plus there are some new bands I found that I am following and some favorites that have put out some studio videos etc. Imagine that? A flip video camera and 30 seconds uploading your video at a computer can keep fans glued to your band!

I totally agree with this! I've been checking freaksoflive almost daily in anticipation, but that anticipation has turned into frustration!!

At least an update on whats going on would help!

That's cool, I don't think anyone said they weren't working on or doing nothing. It's their timing of announcing things, if they put realistic timeframes on or didn't imply something soon that'd be cool. I don't think anyone has any problems with how long it takes, just how they present it. You can't defend everything they do, they're human and they get it wrong sometimes, and I think this is one of the times. Of course they don't owe us anything faster, but it just seems like a missed mark on their part. Getting people to sign their friends up, I only signed a couple of people and one of them asked me the other day "so what was that Live site thing I signed up for?".
It's fine for it to all take as much time as it takes, just wish they'd pick their timing to announce things better. Churchbox demos for example, instead of saying "I will get these released soon!" and then go off and investigate further and find out that it wasn't so easy to get them releases and that of indeed they can get released that it will take quite some time. It would have been far better just saying "I'm goin to have a look into the logistics of getting these out, I'll let you know".
I know CT jumps the gun and gets excited, it's part of what makes him him. But yknow a bit of control.

You know me I don't rag on the guys at all, huge fan, but I can't defend everything they do. This is just one I have to disagree with. But personally I don't really care, moved on to other things to be excited about, just cooled my interest a bit. I think I'll take the opportunity to take a leave of absence from here until more word comes through.

You know what's really frustrating...when you see a thread have activity and you think there must be something interesting going on, and then you look in it and there's really nothing going in. Just lightening the mood a little.

Yeah seems like ages ago I made this thread. I don't doubt they're working on something, but it would have been wiser to delay the website til that something is nearing release.

As it is, no doubt loads of people like Pokey have worked hard to re-introduce people to Live, only for there being nothing to reintroduce them to.

I'm not impatient, they can take all the time they need and I hope they do so. I'll still be here when it's ready. But as fish said, they may have let this one get away from them a bit.
