I have to agree with Nick and World Dreamer and others here. I know that it is CT's way to shoot first and think later when it comes to sharing his ideas. But I have to admit that I thought that after Ed's departure and CCP getting a newfound connection with the fans on scial media, that the all-too-predictable disappointments and unfullfilled promises would be a thing of the past. As a long-time Live fanatic and Homespun member, I can say with all candor that Live has let me down on my expectations so many times that I stopped having expectations and yet I still felt left down. Don't even make me go through the list of disappointing, late holiday gifts, special announcements, special shows, merchandise, musical choices, false characterizations about each successively-declining album, and show decisions that have made me feel like I was left standing at the alter. The follow-through on TGF has been disappointing to me as a fan. TGF had such greatness, and I feel like it has vanished before my eyes. The live recordings they sold were such poior quality, I couldn't listen to it. They promised touring in the Sumnmner, then the Fall, and now they announce some unspecified show in March 2012. Living in their area, I thought I would get mnore chances to see them play together. Now, I wouldn't be surprised if it goes quietly away. And the new Live lead singer and website that is still waiting to be launched? The wait is frustrating. I keep hearing how great all this will be but I have heard it all before. We'll see... In my heart, Live has been cashing in on the enormous capital account they accrued from their first 4 albums for a really long time. At some point the account is going to run dry. I hope they make another contribution soon.

Well said. It appeared that things were turning the corner, but now it seems like it's the same old shit. I'm guessing the legal issues and disconnect from Ed are the main reasons for the delay of the Churchbox Demo's, but in typical LIVE fashion - Chad led us to believe it was right around the corner. I cling to the notion that CC&P are free from the shackles and will blow us all away with some killer music. If the next album does not meet our high expectations then I guess that will really be the end of LIVE (at least for me). I really enjoyed TGF, so I'm fully expecting to be blown away again. So how about some news or updates???

It is not Chad's problem

It is not our problem

It is the problem of fucking 21 century-online generation

Without it you would be hearing NOTHING expecting new interviews in the magazines, that will NEVER appear, cause Live are not popular any more.

So deal with it and fucking wait. That is what I am telling myself each day

True in some cases but not all. Social media and how we live is here to stay, it's up to us (us including the band) how we use it. You can't use it as a scapegoat in every occasion. If we were hearing nothing and acting on rumors alone and getting impatient I'd tend to agree, but when it's some specifically telling you in black and white from the horses mouth it doesn't matter how hes delivering the message, it's the message itself we're taking as golden. It's the age old "don't shoot the messenger" point.
So it doesn't matter if for example in 2011 CT is tweeting us that the website and a free song is "coming very soon" or if it's 1995 and he's telling us at every gig from stage the same thing. The message is the same.

That being said though, its frustrating but I'm not going to get worked up over it. It'll happen when it happens. Some parts of me think Live owes us some great music to make up for disappointing albums we've paid money for. And part of me thinks they owe us nothing, I'm just gonna try and not put a timeframe on it and get sucked into the hype unless it's actually happening.

I disagree. It's not just social media. People telling other people stuff and then letting them down can happen by email, mailing, word of mouth, interviews or whatever. If I went around talking to my friends and colleagues promising things and hyping what I am about to do and telling people I am going to be at a certain place at a certain time or do a certain thing, and I continually let them down, then they have a right to be bothered by it. If I tell my clients that I am going to deliver my very best work next Friday and it will be better than any work they have seen me do for the last ten years, and then I don't send it to them for another year and it stinks, then the client gets upset. Now think of SFBM, with it's abortion of a release in the US and how it was promised to rock like TC, and the multi-year Homespun membership drive that people bought weeks before Live broke up, and the "special" show at the Strand in York that included nothing special and the exact same set list as every other show I saw that year. I love Live. I'm still here. But I'm just saying...

My love has broken my heart more than a few times. We had a great thing early on. But she stood me up at the alter more than once. She grew old and fat and ugly and she stopped pleasing me with that thing she used to do so well. I felt like she took me for granted. She has slapped me in the face a few times. She even left me for two years, and now she is calling me from Timbucktoo and telling me that she has had a complete facelift and she is coming back looking better than ever. She's teasing me with a website that is under construction and telling me that she will be knocking on my door any day now. But months have gone by since she started contacting me again and I have nothing real to hold onto yet. She's telling me to go tell all my friends that we are getting back together, based only on her word and my hopes and prayers. And her friends are getting on my favorite message board and they are working on me - telling me that they have seen her and she looks great and not to lose faith in her. Sure, I've got others I could turn to. I could just walk away and find another love. But this one is my one true love, and I keep holding out hope that we can recapture what we once had. It was so good that I would give anything to return to it. Even if just for a moment. There is a part of my brain that tells me I am just setting myself for another inevitable fall. Just like so many times before. But it is that one small sliver of a chance that I could feel that magical feeling again that makes me put hope before rational thought. So I'll keep waiting for her. Maybe it will be different this time.

OK - that got wierd. I got lost in the metaphor. It was actually somewhat cathartic. Thank you for reading...

I can wait for new stuff. I understand there is a long process and shouldn't be rushed.

What is testing my patience is the promised releasing of older stuff that, from what I understand, is easier to release now than ever before.

From what I can gather, they are able to re-record and re-release anything from their catalog, but releasing the old recordings is a whole other matter. I don't think they anticipated resistance to releasing old demos, but the label owns them too.

I was talking about Live. TGF released Great Houses, which was awesome.

I guess the old Live stuff still has strings attached. It's a damn shame.
