Yeah I'm sort of with Funky here and its sort of the opposite to what I thought with Kevin Martin (again, assuming Shinn is 'the man'). With KM the Candlebox stuff didn't really grab me besides the odd song here and there, but his solo record with the Hi Watts really rocked me, I love that. With Shinn I am not super familiar but everything I'd heard of his past work I really quite liked, with this it didn't really do much for me.
So if Shinn is 'the man', I had my doubts about KM and now know that CCP know better than me and chose wisely, if they picked Shinn, I'm willing to put doubts or caution aside and see if they get the magic right again.

As for this album specifically I think I enjoy the first part of it more than the second, but I think that might be just because there doesn't seem like a great deal of variety between the songs so by the time the album progresses I'm sort of done with it. I might try load the songs to my phone and let them come up randomly and see how I enjoy them scattered here and there.

Its funny how that happens, some albums you can enjoy from start to finish in context of the album but as songs on their own they lose something. Others, whilst you don't really hate the album, you can't listen to from start to finish but still really enjoy the songs as individual songs.

Am I missing something? How are you guys listening to the whole album. I only see the 3 songs on his Facebook page.
