Believe it or not, I find myself hoping Ed makes an awful next album or doesn't sell out venues just because of Nick. That is how aggravating Nick can be.

And even though I give Ed a hard time I am one of the people who, in the end, would prefer Ed come back to Live. I wasn't all that angry at Ed when the break up happened. I figured they were big boys and they could all take care of their business. Sure, it sucked. But it is music and shit happens. It won't be the first or last time this happens. Too bad it happened to my favorite band but life marches on.

But Nick, and people like him, have soured my opinion of Ed and it is a shame that those people can't or just don't want to realize that they are doing more harm than good.

I'm sure Ed's actions made many Live fans despise him. But we don't really have any stats telling us that the majority of all Live fans despise Ed for the road he led the band down. Also, the previous SFBM poll had about 100 votes. Most of those people who said they liked SFBM in the last poll probably don't come here anymore.

I love the cd and i still come here. And i highly doubt there are many fans that hate ed. The handful of you here doesn't count. Even the ones acting like they hate him LOVE him. Who the hell do they think they are fooling? lol

ok all knowing, all powerful person.....give us some real facts...............I think Liverocks stated pretty clearly many die hards stopped following Live when Ed's agenda became the fore, SFBM is a SOLO record!!!
Us that followed the band can clearly see the collective wane in support and following tied directly to the music change.

Enjoy it though. I was appalled when I first heard it. I instantly knew the band was through!!! Feel free to be-little my comments all you want lady.....my comments carry much more weight.

Its awesome that you love the cd, if that's what you like then go for it. But thats not the Live that so many of us fell in love with. When other members of the band are even saying that it was basically an Ed solo CD, when all the writing credits point to Ed, when it sounds absolutely nothing like the sort of music 3/4 of the band wanted to make - its not really a true Live album that had everyone's heart and soul in it. Enjoy it for what it is, but don't forget what it is. Ed's first solo venture.

As for the above, even with Nick removed, I'd feel the same way towards Ed as I do now. He took one of my favorite bands and sent it head first into the ground. It sucks all the more because of how much I did used to admire him. None of us would be here if we'd never at some stage had a lot of love for Ed.
But the truth is that he wants to do something now that is so different to what drew people to him in the first place. Some people like yourself and Nick are happy with that. But for the people that loved what he used to offer they've jumped off the wagon, some long ago, some more recently.
Personally all creative stuff to do with the band aside, I lost a lot of respect for him, the shoddy merchandise, the riding Live's coat tails whilst saying he's moved on, the fact that I have absolutely no reason not to believe what CCP say about him is true ... the guy is just dead to me.
So if a few of us feel that way, you can be your life there are a whole bunch of people out there that feel the same.

I got talking to someone who used to be on this board years ago the other day, we keep in touch every so often and I actually asked her what made her leave and her answer was "that songs from black mountain pop crap that Ed was producing". And she's basically been gone from the board since about 06 or 07. You say that's just one person, but it's one person representing a large portion of fans that have dropped off for that very reason.

As much as Nick asked to be "counted out" when he learned that Ed was no longer around, a whole lot of fans wanted to be counted out the moment that first 1:30 clip of 'The River' leaked.
That's just the way it is.

Pokey, can't sum it up any better than that bud. The moment I head an even softer pop past BOP, it's a true indication that no matter what came from Live's PR that is was rock, was totally not Live. It was ED, solo with Live's name on it...................NOT real Live.

I dont like the album as a total of it s songs. I cant say i enjoy it now more than when it was released. I feel now I sold out on LIVE back then trying desperately to find something good in SFBM but now looking back with the knowledge of where the band was heading.....I can see how it couldnt be any better.......... but it still leaves me feeling blahhhh...

ps .... the only song i really like offa SFBM is "Show" it could have been something? if it had more CCP

I was going to respond but it already happened on another thread.

Let's stop being ridiculous. Nick is at the centre of a lot of unrest on this board - most of the regular members have argued with him at one point or another over his opinions/stance on stuff. Pokey is a quality poster, and at the forefront of the collection of people whose brains have been mushed by Nick's opinions. He posts a lot about him, because Nick posts a lot of stuff that makes you go WTF?!!?!? It balances. If Nick didn't speak so much crap, people wouldn't need to mention him so much.

Some of us just have a low tolerance for mind-fuckery and stupidity, so we like to speak out instead of letting shit fester to ridiculous degrees. You're trying to create this weird image of what's happening, which isn't working for you at all. Nick is obsessed with Ed in a borderline creepy gay way, and you're a crazy old cat lady making a fool of herself and trying to back him up. It's just plain WEIRD.

You're weird, and Nick is weird. Together, it's a big crazy cinge-worthy situation which, day by day, is continuing to spoil the board. Instead of basking in the awesomeness of quality fresh material from Live (which history shows us is likely to happen because - fact fact fact fact fact - CCP's greater involvement in a project results in higher quality produce - Live's latter albums with Ed's sole control are vastly inferior quality from an artistic standpoint - again - fact fact fact fact fact) I fear Nick will just whinge over it all and mention sales and bullshit this and wah wah that, and you'll continue to yap in the background about how we're all bullying him.
