Are you fucking serious? You do realize that this album came out 5 years ago - right ....?

Agree with Jaybb, Think people having waited so long for their favourite band to put something out were just desperate to like it. I know I tried to convince myself it wasn't shit. I'm sure this poll now would have a slightly different outcome...

I admit that I originally did that with BOP. Almost trying to convince myself that it wasn't as bad as it was (in retrospect I'd take it any day over SFBM). But by the time SFBM came around my expectations were so crushed that I couldn't lie to myself anymore.

I feel like such a turd for liking SFBM, but I really do kind of like it. I realize that it is a solo album. I realize that it is no Throwing Copper. I'm not taking it with me to my desert island or anything. But I like it for what it is. For what it's worth, I hate Alive and BoP and I love TGF.

Given what we now know about Live's recording history (thanks to CT's blog/book chapter) I think you'd have to be quite ignorant to continue to think of it as a Live CD. It really wasn't by that point. The band was incredibly fractured and CCP were alienated to the point where they didn't have much if any creative input at all. It was almost 100% Ed so, although the CD case might have said Live, it reaaaally wasn't.

It was a proper 'Live' CD about as much as Ed's debut album is fresh, quality content.

I have a hard time considering it a Live album. If I play Secret Samadhi or Mental Jewelry and then play SFBM it is like it isn't even the same band.

The gap between them might as well be the Grand Canyon.

Believe it all you want small minded one, words are on the page from the other band members that it wasn't a real Live record. Enjoy it though, its really shit.

Based on a conversation that I had with Chad Taylor within weeks after the cd was released in the US, SFBM did not involve very much, if any, musical input from CCP. It was all Ed.

I agree that the creation itself wasn't a Live product, but as I stated before, the music still had a Live tough, if you get what I mean. With the way CCP play their instruments it would always be another sound if (for example) the EK band would play the music. Also, the little things like the sofia solo, the musical break in wdwgfh, it's still CT-ish, in its own way.
I'm not saying they had any space for being creative, but it was still a product only those 4 'induviduals' (ahum...) could deliver and I can very well understand if people see this more as a Live product than Alive (aside from the cover).

How can it be an opinion that it's a true Live album when only 1 of 4 members wrote it? The others just played the parts they were told. Is that what Live was to you? Ed and a backing band? If so, GTFO. Saying it's your opinion is like saying it's my opinion that Snoop Dogg wrote Throwing Copper. It's wrong, factually incorrect.
