seems a few people didn't understand the point here, but I didn't fail to make it relatively easy to understand

I think the point clearly was that The Lion King IS worth seeing in 3D! Just came back from it myself. Damn nearly cried again when Mufasa dies. Classic

Its no good because now Hollywood is just going to realise that rereleasing movies in 3D is the new version of making remake after remake that didn't need to be made sad.gif
Is it so hard to ask for new great movies? Sort of like new great music instead of the same old over and over.

Anyways, Bremang it seems like your back to your best at trying to present "the other side" of the argument. You like Ed, you don't like Ed, you like CCP, you don't like CCP, you're a fan of what is being done, you're against what's being done .. I don't know whether you're coming or going man.

i wasn't saying anything about liking or disliking ed, or ccp, or what is being done.

i was saying that jaybb had no way of asserting any legal analysis about ed selling Live's music on his website, because the contract is not available. And I was telling him that the term negligence was poorly used, if not totally misused.

but i like Ed, I don't like his music, or Live BOP and on, with a few exceptions. I like CCP and TGF and all that music. I like that Live is getting back, but I'm not crazy about Shinn as of now. I'll still call any of them out if they bs.

As much as I like CCP, I think the fact that they even respond to dissenting FB posts is bitchy. This guy is a fan of Ed, and he made a comment where he cleverly used a couple Live tracks, saying that CCP should stand up for love and overcome their differences. But Chad goes and says he won't let that kind of negative energy blah blah blah. Just put up the website already. it was promised a month ago!

You think what he said was clever?

So CCP are saying that Ed won't even talk to them now, Ed is apparently a devout Christian who is apparently not practicing his forgiveness very much. I suppose he should "stand up for love" too.

He says he won't let that kind of negative energy effect the band, and he won't, it doesn't mean he can't respond to it. He's not going to let it deter them from doing what they want to do. If fans, or "fans" want to come out and bitch at the band then why shouldn't they, as people, have a right of reply?
If you're not a fan of what CCP are doing then stop following them and follow Ed, it's really just not that hard.

Damn. The sheer negativity on this board is staggering. You people always wind eachother up and make it a CCP vs Ed thing.

If someone was selling music that I helped create on their website and they weren't paying me the mechanical royalties, I'd stick a legal chainsaw up their asshole.

It's funny how the law works like that.

That's exactly what I meant in my original post. If I helped create a song and that song was being sold either at concerts on CD or via the internet, I'd be pretty pissed. There is no grey and the contract doesn't have a lot to do with this issue. ASCAP handles most of this in a standard manner - there is a standard mechanical royalty rate.

It's not like it isn't clear who wrote the songs. Just look at the CD liner. The credited writers are owed money. Sorry, but that's the way it works. If I recorded a version of "The River," a song where Ed is the sole credited author, and started to sell it on my website for money - and he found out about it - I'm absolutely certain there would be a lawsuit much in the same manner (yes, there were additional charges leveled against Ed - I'm not referring to those).

And yes, for the record, it is negligent that a successful performing artist would attempt something that amateur - if the accusations are true. Either he sold the songs or he didn't (he did). Either he paid them the money from that or he didn't (they claim he didn't). End of story.
