Good things come to those who wait, right?

It's been exactly 1 month since the website was launched. I'm getting tired of waiting.

At least we know who Ed's replacement is but a little more info would be nice.

as far as I know, Chris Shinn has not been officially confirmed, we just have taken CCP's silence on the matter as confirmation (or at least I have). A facebook member posted that shinn was the new guy & her post was deleted by the band. A day or so later she again mentioned it again & that post remained. I contacted her on fb & she said she knows someone in Lancaster who's seen CCP in studio w Shinn. That's as official as it's gotten, right? Unless I missed something.
not really solid confirmation, clearly, but since the band is quiet we've got nothing else to go on.
I am fully ready for the new website to get underway... It will at least be something new to consider

Just because he was spotted in the studio with them doesn't necessarily mean he's the singer, especially if they held auditions (he might have not been their choice?) and you'd have to assume they were visited by friends / other people.

Chad Taylor posted a message on Facebook saying that he's in Nashville doing business for Questionable Entertainment and also in the recording studio.

Guess who else is currently in Nashville? Chris Shinn. He's posting numerous pics of Sound Emporium Recording Studio which is located there.

Co-incidence?

Is anybody keen on a scouting mission?

Agreed, but the thread has zero credibility...look at the title...Chris Shinn is the new frontman according to some person with a Facebook account. Not according to the band, anyone who knows the band, etc.

I thought the person on FB kinda knew someone in the band...don't remember.

The rumor started with the FB member who saw CT and Chris together in or near a studio in Lancaster. We don't know if it had/has anything to do with Live. It is quite well possible that Questionable Entertainment is producing Chris' new album and this whole new lead singer thing is a misinterpretation of what she saw.

The new singer will need to play guitar as well as sing. Does anybody know what Chris is like on guitar?

There's a lot of videos of him playing on the youtubes. I know he played a lot of the guitar and bass on the Everything is Energy album. He's a solid player and tends to write interesting stuff, but he isn't a flashy soloist.

That is one thing I would like to see/hear from new Live. Some extended solo work. There really haven't been any songs where the solo (guitar) is very long. They have been perfect and fit the songs just like they should but are never very long.

If you listen to many of the bands in the TC era (Pearl Jam and Candlebox come to mind) there are quite a few lengthy solos. You don't see that much anymore.

I'd like to see CT throw down a little more. But like I said, the shorter solos in say Run to the Water, Ghost, Graze or Gas Hed are perfect.

I'm not asking for a Comfortably Numb solo or anything. That'd be sick though.

I just don't think that is in CT's arsenal. His solo on Honest Man is the perfect length for him to bring it on (and one of his best solos).

Shinn could bring a little more to the table in that respect, if needed, but I've never thought their music was about that.

I don't think extended solos are really needed, they were never what made Live great in the past so may seem a bit out of place now. CT having mini solos here and there as little treats did me. What I would rather see are bigger drum and bass moments. Songs that are owned by one or the other. It's bee way too long since we've been able to say "CG is the undisputed star of this song" like on Iris. I'd be more up for some moments, maybe not so much solos (although I wouldn't complain), but moments that really let CG and PD shine. To me they are and always have been the backbone of Live and were criminally kept in the dark for years. Like playing a football game and keeping your 2 best players on the bench. Sure you may have the most well known and flamboyant guy on the field, but you're not playing your match winners.
