I don't have a problem with OTD danging the carrot because ya know why? He's earned it. He did a ton of work for TGF pro bono and has really turned that into something. Good for him! While I understand why it can be annoying, the dude has earned it. And yes, whatever info he has is legit.

I understand that train of thought and I am behind it as well... however, my comments weren't a frown at OTD at all, but rather just pointing out where NicktheDouche was coming from regarding his comments.

And I kno that OTD has done some sterling 'marketing' with effort and words both here and social media and probably outside in 'the real world' for TGF and that is admirable - but who's to say there weren't /aren't others on this board who haven't done just as much? Do we get such 'carrot-dangling' privs too? bounce.gif

Having said that, I personally enjoy the subtle hints of 'i know something you don't know' as it is part of the excitement and build-up to new music.

Sometimes it's easy to forget that this is all really about the music.

Listen, bottom line is that Live were in trouble for years. It happens and it shouldn't come as any surprise that people grow apart as they hit 30. Even Chad has said that he had trouble communicating after some time had passed between them getting back together.

People in these positions go back and spend time with their families and return different people. A long time ago, these guys started having thei differences. Ed especially. Stopped hanging with the other 3 and even got his own separate dressing room. They stopped going out after shows and basically went their separate ways on most occasions. Although I'm not completely sure, it seems the same thing happned with the music itself. It was no longer a get together and collaboration, it was a get together, with Ed having written his own music and bringing it in as if it was what was going to come to fruition. That's where some of the communication gaps came in. CT especially had some of his own ideas and they weren't being accepted as possible ideas for the bands upcoming recorded music.

It got to the point where the guys just weren't willing to accept Ed's ideas anymore and let him rule the roost. They did not agree with the music anymore(not that they ever had) and everything finally came to a head. Three albums of complete musical failure was about it. They wanted to be part of the creative influence again, and Ed wasn't letting that happen.

Just look at what CCP created with TGF, and compare it to SFBM....you notice much of a difference there? I think the mistake was not CCP not stopping the buck after V. They let it get too far without communicating to Ed that they weren't happy going that way anymore. And when they did, it blew up. Some of what happened in between, only those guys know and MOST IMPORTANTLY, it's only their business.

I've stopped bagging on Ed completely. I've made up my mind that I lost all respect for him as an artist and a human being. Maybe it's warranted, maybe not. But it's my opinion. I think you all just need to let it rest. If Ed comes back eventually, so be it. For now, he isn't. GEt over it. Will the new Live succeed?? I don't know. But I do know that I'll like it more than the pure garbage we've gotten over the past 3 albums. I want nothing more to do with that. I'm positive that the new brand of music will be a billion times more creative musically.

Will I miss Ed?? Fuck yeah, he was a huge part of this band and I still love his performances of the old catalogue. But his new music sucked completely in every single sense of the word. There was utterly no sense in these four people continuing to make more music that was not successful in any way shape or form.

Support who you support and stop bagging on the other party.

Amen brotha. Nicely done.

I'd say when people do this I don't view it as excitement, I just see it as annoying. OMG you must be awesome and cool if you know something we don't - but you also can't share it.

Please then, keep it to yourself instead of stroking yourself on the boards and telling us how "In" you are with Live.

If you can't share it then don't - at all (unless you just want the "oh please just tell me" attention).

Consider it done Hoodie, enjoy the silence.

You know what?? There's nothing wrong with being a little excited. Knowing you can't exactly spill shit to people is very difficult, but at the same time, you still want to let people know what they're in for.

I don't think it's an attention thing at all. When I heard TGF's album early, I was saying the same thing. I wanted to let people hear what I heard, but simply couldn't. You have to respect those people who entrusted you and I respect that IMMENSELY.

So good for you Bob. I can understand some people maybe getting a little annoyed, but that's an unfortunate effect of trying to let people know a little without letting them know too much.

So while I see where you're coming from Hoodie, I understand Bob's excitement even more. Because this time around, I think there is just as much reason to be excited about the new music as there was with TGF's new tunes.

People who liked TGF's effort are going to love what they hear from the new Live.

It's not that people claim to have heard stuff and share what they think is going on. It's when people say I have all this knowledge, I'm letting you know that I have it, but I'm sorry I won't share.

FYI - I never specifically referred to you. I actually said "when people do this I don't view it as excitement, I just see it as annoying" as a general comment to everyone.

I'm sorry if that made you feel guilty of dangling info or if you felt singled you out. You can pm me if you want to talk about it. tongue.gif
