if that's what his marketing-like posts call for. i mean job or not, he's always been out to help Mr. Taylor promote. And it's a good thing, otd is good at what he does. Subtlety is definitely part of the skill set.

I don't get what your problem is? Do you think things like street teams are "plants"? Let it go.

Water is Wet,

it's easier not to be wise
and measure these things by your brains
I sank into Eden with you
alone in the church by and by
I'll read to you here, save your eyes
you'll need them, your boat is at sea
your anchor is up, you've been swept away
and the greatest of teachers won't hesitate
to leave you there by yourself, chained to fate

oh so true, oh so true!!!

Nick, serious question. I thought at one time you were posting things for Ed. Did you get fired?

No, I just run the Street Team. Ed does his own posts now. Not fired...lol. smile.gif

So is your street team charter to brainwash those signing up to carry banners and spread vitriol like you do here? Were the Musikfest ticket giveaways worth the size of the crowd?

QUOTE(LiveRoCkS77 @ Sep 19 2011, 12:39 pm) *

That is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard pretty much. For somebody who pretends to be oh so smart, your guise is extremely futile in achieving this image.

I say this because sometimes you say things that make absolutely no sense. Almost to see what kind of response you will get.

For if you think for one second that "playing devils advocate" is called being objective??? Probably one of the most ridiculous and absurd things I've ever read.

never claimed any intelligence, if i'm not making sense to you feel free to point it out specifically. yea, playing devils advocate can be taking an objective stance IPB Image. I'm obviously not Ex, do I sound like i got my MD or am I throwing a line full of bananas after every other post? haha.......

QUOTE(LiveRoCkS77 @ Sep 19 2011, 12:39 pm) *

Because behind all the fancy languange and vocabulary are the reasoning and logic skills of somebody I would seriously consider to be borderline delusional. That leads me to believe that you are actually not who you say you are. To go further than that, I can say with a fair amount of confidence that you are bored....and that you most likely post here under another name. In my opinion, you are most likely that Existentialist character

There is no way any sane person could actually be serious about saying that. For contradicting ones beliefs, specualtions or ideas does not make your "playing devils advocate" objective. That would insinuate that your part of the argument is absolute and that these people you contradict are simply offering subjective opinion. While you contradict it with your side, being absolute or objectified.

That's just entirely ridiculous, so like I said, you're either a complete idiot, or you're just bored and saying these things to see if people are smart enough to actually catch what you are saying. I've caught on to you for quite some time now. You can jumble words all you want, but I can see straight through it in an instant.

But good luck playing the game with others son.

so according to you i'm either an idiot, or testing people, one of the two. But then I also must be delusional, cause theres no way a sane person could be serious about saying the things I say.

How about none of the above- give me a break man.

IPB Image It is no coincidence that this comes just as the buzz around Live (without him) heats up. I'm actually quite surprised that some have so quickly forgotten this guys m.o. for the past 10+ years. So in one interview he just cleanses all of that and now there's a chance they could find the common ground to produce magic again? Not that he could even go there anymore if he gave in to the process. Now that Ed has put this out there it is sure to cause quite a commotion. Imagine those that don't know as much as we do, hearing Live is making music without Ed, yet Ed would welcome a reunion. They're going to flip. His responses were calculated and disingenuous. If he truly wanted to mend any fences he wouldn't continue speaking about Live as "I". Every interview lately he reminds us how much he contributed, or more like, how little CCP contributed. Just a not so subtle reminder of his importance to Live, or their reliance on him. He knew damn well that saying he'd welcome a return would get everyone's juices flowing. Like I said, this is all about gaining or trying to keep his leverage as the key component to Live. No Ed, no Live. At least that is what he'd like to perpetuate. This latest move is a calculated effort on that front. Do you really think that if CCP believed there was a chance to collaborate with Ed as they did back in the day, they'd be moving on as they are right now? Absolutely not. The fact that they are tells you all you need to know about a possible reunion.

Well what if it's only non-sensical because you don't understand that? Allow me to offer a different point of view here. You not understanding the issues at hand are only serving in the breakdown of the argument, hence what you are perceiving is non non-sensical. In a sense. Are you following me here? No? Go back 3 pages and read the second post to truly understand. You are deliberately not understanding this to push an ulteria motive. Of course I don't actually believe this, but I'm gonna argue the hell out of this anyways.

you might be joking but you're not too far off - people get frustrated or super sensitive around here and start hating.

Theres a chance that Ed wants back into Live. But CCP brought up the idea of an Ed reunion first. For all we know, both sides could have been making those waves just to promote Live in general. Ed was talking about making a second album months before saying that he wouldn't rule out a reunion, who knows that he actually is sincere about saying he'd get back with CCP.

QUOTE(Pokey @ Sep 19 2011, 12:51 pm) *
I honestly thought the fact that all the writing credits on albums moving from showing multiple song writers names to just showing Ed's name meant that most people here knew that Ed was running the show and CCP had taken a back seat in the involvement in the song writing process long before this "OTD was the only person who ever knew about it!" It had been talked about quite a bit in the past how the writing credits all pointed to Ed. Then putting 2 and 2 together with how the music changed as soon as the writing changed, take CCP out of the equation and Live became a pop rock act as to what they were in the 90s ... OTD wasn't in to any inside info, it was right there for everyone to see.

you might be right that Ed's and CCP's musical inputs were becoming known, but to me OTD came at an opportune time with his own unique outlook and unique posting habit as a very passionate fan/ personal representative of CCP.
