I think it will please fans of Ed, but ultimately be met with indifference from the general public. Depends how you define success though.

Precisely. It might make him a nice niche market in *shudder* Xtian Rock but that stuff never sells to the GP.

Indifference. Probably about the same way SFBM was received by the general public.

Wow this poll is a bit telling now isn't it? It will probably be very indifferent to the folks in the states and probably get more airplay in Europe....my honest guess.

It will be a success no question about that. About similar to Daughtry I bet. I will not be surprised if Ed will be opening for him once. Just like Live opened for Nickelback. but this time it would not be disgusting to me. It could be common logic

With this poll are we talking about personal enjoyment, radio play, commercial appeal, album sales ... ?

I think it would have been a better idea to ask if people are excited or indifferent about a new album, or if they think they will buy it or enjoy it or not.

I think the general public won't notice. Just like the general public didn't notice Alive.
I am excited for it because I'm hoping and praying that Alive was a warm-up, and he'll actually make something remarkable.
This poll could have given some better options, as I have the same questions Hoodie had. Either way, fingers crossed for Ed getting something listenable recorded.

I'll go with utter failure and here's why. I couldn't stand Alive sans two songs. That fact combined with the fact no one cares about Ed anymore convinces me the next album will be another failure. Ed should really just retire already.

does nobody realise this thread was intended for the first album back in 2010?

either way, most of those predictions were correct. I for one hopes ed's next album does something drastically different, like V. Ed needs to take ecstasy again!

new single spring 2012, hmm, we'll see!
I'm quite sure it will be exactly Alive II, especially if he stays with the same band and doesn't want to break out of his own standard for years.
If he starts with Zion- and DWLF-ish shit again, there may be hope.
