glad to see them talking. Does world vision feed children or just hand out bibles? I know there are christian charities which just do the latter and if this is the case here then fuck them all. However i am fairly ignorant so forgive me if I'm wrong, i'd just like to know if my money is ACTUALLY gonna help people/.

I'm not well versed in World Vision, but I do know that they do a lot more than hand out Bibles. My guess is that they do that too.

Like any charity, read up before participating.

I'm confused by this. Are you asking if Ed is legit? If so, fair point.

"World Vision has a strict policy against proselytizing which they describe as using any kind of coercion or inducement to listen to a religious message before helping someone." .... Unlike some of the charities which have asked me for a donation.

When I'm in a position to do so, I'd donate to world vision.

Nice they are collaborating on a charity issue. That whole letter from Ed seemed really forced and formal to me, though. It's not at all how I'd approach someone I'd worked closely with for twenty plus years. It seems more like a sales pitch from a vague acquaintance than anything else.

I guess the relationship is strained still so you wouldn't expect the email to be all buddy like, it seems more like business. But its nice in that knowing its genuine at least, Ed couldn't have known that CT would have even mentioned Ed's name in the message, there was no ask for it, so had CT just posted the link without saying it came from Ed there is no way we would have known there was a connection there. So it wasn't like Ed pandering for good guy points or anything.

Good point Pokey, hopefully this may lead to mending relationships at least between all parties on a personal level and possibly move into music.
Fingers aren't crossed on the latter though.
Nice to see this is happening.

Agreed. And about Ed's letter seeming a little 'formal', well I don't think that's weird. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think they've been contacting again for a few months yet. So yeah, maybe that'll get better, maybe it will remain this way.

I hope this is another step in Ed and CT repairing their personal relationship. How many of us can say we've known somebody since kindergarten? That's something really special and a bond few in this world have. As for their professional relationship, it's over and I for one do not want to see Ed return to Live. Not because I have anger towards him, etc. But for the reason that it's been obvious for over a decade now that musically Ed and CC&P have grown apart.

I equate the split to a divorce. It's like many divorces I see in my age group currently, I'm 41. Nobody is to really blame or at fault; when you approach your late 30's and hit 40 many peoples values, belief systems, etc start to change. Unfortunately you and your partner may no longer be on the same page anymore. I've seen many divorces that have been amicable because both people realize they're now growing in different directions and they both say that neither are at fault, we just became different people and grew apart as we traveled down life's path. Ed and CC&P obviously have grown apart musically. If Ed did return it would be like putting that square peg in the round hole exercise, it just doesn't work and it would be forced if Ed tried to be "the old Ed". Like it or not, the old Ed will never return. Our parents in this (CC&P and Ed) have split, we as the children have new Step-Parents (TGF & Ed's solo band). Whether you like your new Step-Parents is completely up to you. I hope fences are mended eventually and they are both happy in their new endeavors. Everyone in the world deserves to be happy.

Hello everyone,
Just joined this group and wanted to introduce myself.
This is a great site!
Excited to see Live restart and hear their new direction (hopefully it will rock like TGF).
Take care,
- Chris
