But even if he is getting inside info, it is from one source(likely Chad Taylor). How does Chad Taylor know how Ed is doing financially?(and why does he care enough to share his thoughts on Ed with OTD?)

From my recent interactions with Ed, he doesn't seem to miss LIVE all that much. He is clearly happier on stage and after the shows. Could he get back with LIVE one day, absolutely. I just don't think he needs to or wants to anytime soon(not insider info, just personal opinion).

Because it doesn't matter about the money or their incomes, when you go to a movie and you are watching it do you struggle to get into it because you're worried about what the actors did or didn't get paid?? No I'm sure you don't, so stop fucking doing it with music. Just focus on the music, let the guys worry about their own financial state.

So if you can accept that from Ed so easily, why the fuck can't you just accept that CCP are happy to continue on Live, that they're in a good place and just doing what they want to do with their band? Ed's not going to be apart of it, so just accept it and move on.
Seriously, either get with the program and start getting psyched about new Live or piss off to Ed-town only.
People who like Ed are more than welcome here, Dancing Queen today has been a fine example, but you're a different animal all together. Dancing Queen is a Live fan and an Ed fan, and maybe a TGF fan. You're just an Ed fan as you've shown over and over again. I don't understand why you just don't go "well its been a good ride, but this is where I get off!" and go focus on Ed's stuff alone if that's what makes you happy.

If Ed reunitng with Live means anything but all members having EQUAL creative involvement?? I want nothing to do with it.

The last 4 albums Live made were just not very good, especially when compared with the first 4. Anybody who denies or even tries to argue that point is a complete retard IMO, and I have not one single thing to say to them.

IMO, CC&P are what I am intersted in from a creative standpoint. Ed had his control with V onward, and that music flat out sucked camel cock. I will not support anything ever again resembling that garbage in the slightest.

Nor do I want to hear Ed singing to CC&P making more TGF style music. That is not what Live was to me.

LIVE was a hard hitting spiritual band that always asked the question...you know what I mean?? Stop asking the questions to life's never ending questions and you get what resulted from it with Ed. A bunch of LA DE DA, preachy bullshit music. Music that doesn't pursue the question anymore, but pretends to have found alllllll the answers......and what resulted was utter fucking garbage that made me want to slap him in the fucking head and tell him to wake the fuck up.

Anybody in life who thinks they've found all the answers is an utter fucking fool. I respect that the man found peace and happiness and all, but it all became a bit pretentious when this guy started sounding as if he knew something we didn't. That's not LIVE, it just isn't. That was Ed and his journey.......so when Live stopped being hard hitting and asking the questions, then turned soft and preachy with all god and Ed's answers, people turned their backs in immense numbers.

Live seriously need to revisit their roots and cobine some of the old sound with the new. Kind of how CT found inspiration to draw on some of his old influences and create the sound TGF had.

In one way, I do not want to see this band go back to the same old crap they were making. On the other hand, as much as I love CC&P, I cannot WHATSOEVER, go to any show and see any other singer singing songs like I Alone and Lightning Crashes. I don't give a rats ass who they find, it just won't work for me in any way shape or form.

To end it off, I don't want to see Ed go back and have to sacrifice his artistic integrity neither. He needs to make and perform music that makes him happy as well, andI just don't see the artistic integrities of these two entities being anywhere near being close together. I mean, TGF made a hard hitting record and Ed made a record that Britney Spears would be proud of.

If anything?? I'd much rather see them mend fences and find the love they've had for each other for what seems like a lifetime. Life is way too short to spend it hating and feeling contempt for someone that deep down, you love like a brother. Don't let Live, money, us fans, or anything on this motherfucking earth stand in the way of that.

Absolutely. Well said.

Also, just fyi, I am a TGF fan. I, sadly, have only seen them once (at Fat Daddy's - the free show they did). I will see them again WHEN the start touring again. (Not IF, but when.)

I'm not sure I'll be able to tolerate someone else singing I Alone. It's the greatest love song ever, and it will be weird for me, but I won't write it off until I see what's up.
What I really want? Live from 1994 back. Not sure that will ever happen...

Thanks.

The end of Live made me sad for one very large reason. I remember way back, so many times seeing these guys hug and dance.....and you could see the brotherhood amongst them. Somewhere along the line, it all got lost.

But it's never too late to find it again. I'd bet my life that if one of these guys died(knock on wood) or something along those lines, the others would all be devasted. They would be laced with regret for the rest of their lives. Why does our nature predispose us to that???

I've pondered that question my entire life. Why do people wait until its too late too reach out and why on gods green earth can't we envision ourselves walking a mile in somebody elses shoes? Especially before we pass judgement on them? Why don't we care for the suffering of others, when if it were us who were suffering, our hearts would break at people just like us not caring??

Life is too short to spend it not loving and spending it with those we love most.

Damn, Luke nailed it 100% there.

For now all I can say is i am not sure anymore what I want. Well, of course, I want another TDTH with the four of them etc, but it ain't happening (only in my wet dreams, for sure). I want them to be friends again. I want them to get back again. I want them to continue with what they are doing for them all to be happy> I want a new Live vocalist. I do not want a new Live vocalist.

All I know for certain is that I am wearing my Live polo today for work

Ed is certainly in a different mood than in previous vids I've seen as Hoodstock said he's much more open to discussing Live and it's clear to me from the way he's talking bout their show at the Stardust that he still cherishes the memories.

Thought I'd type out the last bit as a quicker go-to reference than Dan's audio file or for anyone having problems:

Interviewer: Do you ever see yourself onstage again, with the original members of Live, do you ever see yourself opening up a concert again, singing the Damn at Otter Creek, just like back in the early 90's, with some of your solo stuff but do you ever see yourself reconnecting, developing your relationship with those guys again, coming back to form Live again?

Ed: Like I said I would never close any doors to future projects or future collaborations or whatever, I think again, as much as a band is a band there's four individuals in a band or more or less or whatever and that those individuals have their own trajectories they go off, they live their lives they do their own thing and I think that''s the space that the individuals that make up Live are in now and I wouldn't close any doors, you know...yeah sure *nods*

Bit of a turn-around from never wanting to work with 'those individuals' again, though I do wonder how CCP will respond to this or whether it undermines or complicates what they are doing with +Live+ at this moment in time. Personally, my head is spinning a bit as while I was geared for +Live+ without Ed, this has turned my head (yep) and I'm not sure what I want now. I want what's best for +Live+ but what is that? If Ed goes back will it be for better or worse? And I can't help but agree with Liverocks about being at a +Live+ concert without Ed killing it on vocals. Maybe it will work for me aurally, but not visually (though it's not as if they come over here much anyway). And if they do get another guy in but the opportunity to get back with Ed resurfaces a year or two down the line? What then?

So yeah, a strange one and I wonder how it will effect the fans and what CCP are doing now. Your thoughts? I'm surprised much of this thread has been taken up with mud-slinging rather than actually discussing this.

Whatever happens is going to happen. "New Live", "old Live", "Live Live"... who gives a shit as long as it rocks?

I'm on the train and always will be until it finally ceases to move anywhere.

sorry but i just see it as the only response he could have given to such a loaded question. Ed was trying to be neutral. I dont think he has any plans to work with those individuals again.

And nick wasnt the first person to foresee the breakup of live. it was me. except i guessed may 08. look up the thread i cant be fucked.

How about we discuss what Ed has said in this new interview and not our opinions on other FansOfLive members?

exactly---every single thread on this boeard turns into the EXACT same conversation...would be amazing if people could put there nick bias aside, its gets really tired

I don't think it necessarily matters whether or not Ed closes the door. The guys are moving on without him and Live is going to have a new singer. When that happens (since the new person hasn't been announced) I doubt they'll let Ed come back especially if they find some commercial success.

Whatever. I stopped at about the 1:00 min mark, right after he once again reminded everyone what he wrote on Throwing Copper. Look man, we get it, you're responsible for everything with Live, the other guys were just background. Funny how he is backtracking to say he'd now welcome a reunion (or whatever he said since I didn't listen). It's no coincidence that this comes on the heels of Live announcing they're moving on. Sorry man, you're power play won't work anymore. Make no mistakes, that's exactly what this is. I don't doubt he'd go back, but only on his terms, which pretty much means 100% his way. Sorry, the others are tired of that and since they own Live they don't have to succumb to his unyielding egotism. This has nothing to do with mending fences, it's about gaining leverage. Saying he'll welcome a reunion while the others are moving on with a new singer is his attempt to win favor with those that are shortsighted enough not to see the big picture. It's going to take a whole hell of a lot for the four of them to ever work together. Once EK can learn that however small he thinks C,C,P's contribution was to Live, it was just as important as his, then maybe he'll be on his way to reconciliation. Starting every interview reminding everyone how much Live was him is just more of the same ego driven BS.

yeah, talking about TC, all i heard was 'I, I, I, I, my, my, my"-- did he even use the word "we"?
