So last night at the Electric Factory was my first time ever seeing Live in concert. I was quite pleased with the set list, especially the opener with Rattlesnake. Definitely one of my favorites. And I haven't heard the recording of the new album yet, but all the songs they played last night were tight.

I do wish they would have played more "non-hit" tracks than they did. Would have loved to hear Life Marches On, Face & Ghost, Merica.....but I am not at all disappointed. The entire show rocked. Live is just one of those bands that you wish they could play their entire catalog because there is nothing that you don't want to hear!!

The opening act was decent. Wasn't painful to wait through like most openers are. He had some catchy/poppy tunes. The bass player was funny as hell though. Every time he would back vox he had this insanely surprised look on his face.

The venue itself was pretty cool. Definitely bigger, and better acoustically, than the 930 Club in DC. It had a House of Blues feel too it.

My only real complaint is that I think Ed failed to see all the men in the audience. I think he thought it was an all female crowd.

And, who is the 5th guy? Adam? What's his story?

What did you want Ed to do for the guys? I don't blame him one bit....if I were a rock star I'd be the same way.

Adam is Ed's brother.

You really thought the opener was decent? Urg I couldn't wait for him to get off. The first song was kinda OK then I just heard the same song over and over and over again. Plus I couldn't stand the dorky ass guitarist he had either.

But yes the show did rock. The $5 a beer did not. Electric Factory Raped my wallet.

Jenny, reading your review ( which was awesome) it sounds like we had the same experience in different cities. smile.gif

I am so glad you had so much fun. I too was feeling a bit disenchanted for a while, but I left there elated, and filled with a new hope. thumbsup.gif

And congrats T on 25 shows!!!!! victory.gif

Yeah we will!! banana.gif yahoo.gif happy.gif

I just realised that Adam's show could be a problem for me this time; I've got one examination this year and that's planned for the 28th of June (you know, the only gap in the June tourdates when he's actually in the neighborhood...) bomb.gif

So, when he said "I'm sure I will be back in June", he actually meant "July", right? I bet he was just a bit confused... nod.gif tongue.gif

Matty twisted my arm & made me go - last minute. My 38th - and by far one of the best after 14 years of shows. I teared up during Mirror Song. I haven't seen that song in about 12 years - and to feel their excitement & energy on stage over a song that's got to be 16-17 years old, then go into new songs and still have that 'little boy' energy ... made me so proud.

The songs were awesome.
The sound was awesome.
The crowd was awesome (not one fight or argument, nobody pushing ... )
No security between the stage & barricade - awesome.

And whoever was pulling the strings on the Patrick-mirrors was doing a great job because he & I were locked with eye-contact for a few seconds after the big bow. That's the closest I have ever come to any real Patrick-exposure! Ever!!!

The little doofy-doofy dance Gracey was doing during the last bit of Dance With You was hysterical. We couldn't stop laughing!

Gracey threw a stick right at Matty & Tim. They beat each other up over it until they realized they are brothers. Taylor running backstage to swig out of the JD was glorious to see. mmmmmmmmmjackdanielsmmmmmmmmm

Major thanks to Beth for pulling me up to the barricade for Dance With You. Major thanks to the EMT & Electric Factory security for helping me when I almost passed out during whatshisnameShapiroGuy. BIG night all around.

I took 3 pics from my cellphone. I'll post them in a few minutes.

No time for a full review as I'm starring at this large pile of work on my desk after blowing off most of last week to attend LIVE shows, but I'll give you a quick four word review:

FEE NOM IN ALL

2nd best show out of 26 for me...

Much love to T, Janice, and everyone else we were hanging with at show...

I know! It was a last-minute decision. I didn't even go to the NYC show lol I suck.
If you were on Patrick's side, we were probably right by each other! I was literally right in front of him with one person (lovely little Beth) in front of me. I actually had to leave during Michael Shapiro. I lost my vision for a sec, got SUPER dizzy, started sweating like a pig, almost fell down - raced out of the crowd & sat down for a minute. One of the security guys pulled me outside when he saw me & brought me to the EMT. That guy gave me a soda & tons of ice water, asked me all sorts of questions like, are you diabetic, did you eat anything today ... etc. I also remember yawning a LOT right before this happened. I stayed outside for a few minutes until I was a brand new person. I came back in completely refreshed. So strange. Then I got my spot back & everything. I unzipped my shirt a little more before I started walking in - that might have had something to do with it lol.gif but I got my spot back.

27th show?! You're cathing up! wink.gif yahoo.gif
I'm so glad we're all excited about Live again.

Well yeah I guess I can't blame Ed either. And I don't mean that I expected him to "do" anything for the guys in the crowd.....except maybe not put his hands down his pants so much lol.

That Shapiro guy was decent for an opener. I've seen a lot of shitty opening bands so he wasn't as painful to wait thru.

So, does Adam always tour with the band? That's pretty cool that he gets to come out with them. Hell that would be my dream just to be on the road and play with a band for the hell of it. I thought he kinda looked like Ed a little, but I wasn't sure. Like I said, it was my first time seeing them live so I'm new to the whole experience. Definitely want to catch them in the fall again!
