Dude.. I've never noticed these lyrics because I think I listened to about 10 seconds of the song before I turned it off. Honestly, how could ANY of the original live fans like this?

Same. It's just incomprehensible. I know we say things like this all the time, but the guy who wrote Ghost went on to write those lyrics. It's terribly tragic from where I'm sitting. I wish Ed never found God because, firstly, he doesn't exist so he's wasting his time anyway (wink.gif) and, secondly, as soon as it happened things went soooooooo downhill it's unbelievable.

I believe a shake of the head is in order.

It's not the God stuff that bothers me. It's the fact he completely sold out.

Yeah, the flip flop is pretty astounding when you take the wide view. I also have the general grudge against religion, so it sucks a whole lot seeing someone I used to really like buddying up with Christ and God and all that other related shit. Sickly, sickly shit. Fuck it. It's disgusting.

QUOTE(sh4rpz @ Aug 4 2011, 3:13 pm) *

I'm with Fish on this. I don't know much about Chris Shinn or Blind Melon etc, but from the little I've heard, he sounds decent enough - and if CCP feel he can do the business as LIVE front man, I'm no one to argue.

I don't think Chris Shinn had anything to do with Blind Melon:

Blind Melon:
Possible membershipIn November 2008, Blind Melon announced Shinn would replace Travis Warren as lead vocalist for the tour, but then decided to cancel their tour, stating that Shinn did not have enough time to prepare for the tour with only two days notice. On November 11, 2008, Blind Melon announced on their MySpace page that they were currently engaged in a search for a new vocalist. It is unknown whether Shinn is a contender for the permanent position as lead singer for Blind Melon at present.

QUOTE
Jas-What was it like touring with Live and Counting Crows?

Chris-It was amazing. Christopher, our guitar player, had recorded with them [Live] on their last album, and played his guitar. Right around the time that I met Christopher last year, he was in the middle of making that record with Live. They're friends from years ago and they actually wanted him to join their band, but he declined because he wanted to do what we're doing. He had done a short tour with Live, and played the Tibetan Freedom Concert with them, but his declining made it a lot easier for me to leave my band too.

Live has been the sweetest group to us. They have always said, from the beginning of our band, 'soon as you guys get the record going give us a call, and we'll hook you up,' and they did. It was really cool though. There was this one time when I was standing on stage while they were playing, and Ed [Kowalczyk] pulled me out to sing in the intro for "I Alone." That was amazing.

How was it irrelavant? A person was associating Chris Shinn with Blind Melon, when he never even performed with the band.

I believe he may have done a show(s) with them. Either way, he is closely associated with members of Blind Melon. It's not a stretch at all to mention him in a conversation about Blind Melon.

You're the one who asked to be counted out as a fan, so you deemed yourself irrelevant.
