Fairs that hold thousands of people are better than what either Ed, TGF, or new LIVE are doing.

Better in what aspect? In what kind of way? Better for who, or in who's opinion?

Not right now, but I wouldn't close the door in the future. A proper LIVE reunion(new album and world tour) could be huge if done correctly.

Right, so they're supposed to just sit there in idle while Ed rides the Live train.

If they tore it down that quick it must be true.
Let's forget about Nick and discuss the real news here. Anyone have any good tracks or vids with this guy they can post?

Right now it's just a rumor. But I checked a few youtube videos and he is a very good vocalist. Not sure the Unified Theory songs completely showcase his abilities. I'd certainly be interested to see what he can do.

QUOTE(tiger @ Aug 3 2011, 11:57 am) *

I just don't get why anyone would have a problem with them continuing with Live. C,C,P tried to work with Ed forever, even accepting lesser roles and percentages to continue until Ed finally went on his own for good. Why in the world would you begrudge C,C,P for continuing under those circumstances? Right, it's not Live without Ed. For one thing, no fan can determine that. It might not fit your definition of Live, but that's because of your own limitations, not any problem of theirs. If you want to begrudge someone because your favorite band is moving on, then look to Ed. He's the one who left the band. It would be much healthier though if you could just make peace with it. After all, you're the one harboring all the negativity.

This exactly!!!

Why would it "be better"? Financially? Most definitely, but Jesus fucking Christ, STOP THINKING ABOUT MONEY!

They had the Gracious Few. If Kevin Martin didn't want to tour full time, why not rotate singers with Chris Shinn and include some LIVE songs in the set? They also could have started an entirely new band that incorporated LIVE into their set. Chris Shinn is now going to have to cotend with the shadow of Ed Kowalczyk, which isn't fair to him either.

Looking at Chris Shinn's wiki page, he has been in a ton of bands(non of lasted much over a year). A sign of things to come? I guess we shall see.

Yes they could have done all that, but they haven't. This is what they have chosen to do, if you don't like it then why are you here? I'd understand if you were willing to give the music a go like some people are, but you've already decided you don't like it.

You didn't answer the question. Why is it OK for Ed to clearly carry on the Live legacy but no so for C,C,P? Ed said himself that the spirit of Live continues with his band. If anyone should be able to continue it would be C,C,P. Your own limitations do not allow you to accept that. You are personally identifying Live as you see it. Not everyone sees things the way you do. Thank God.

I have no problem with CCP playing LIVE songs. I actually thought that The Gracious Few would have been a mix of LIVE/Candlebox/covers and new music. CCP playing LIVE or being associated with LIVE is fine and well deserved.

CCP saying that LIVE is back from hiatus and that they are working on their 8th studio album is just a bit misleading. If the average person sees LIVE"s FB posts on their wall, they would think that CCP are reuniting with Ed.

Because they fucking did not want to cover the songs and get people in only with their new songs, dumbass twat. Not like some baldie on the other hand who plays less solo songs than the band songs.

Go away.

Shinn's voice sounds nice to me really. First time my hearing him is right now spinning youtube for Unified Theory. Feels like he has some potential and the UT songs hold him together. Funny enough

Because he can't see past a voice, he can't appreciate anything else. Other musicians are just crutches to help the singer. Just because the average music numpty like Nick can only identify by voice doesn't mean others do to. I told the story about how without telling my Dad what he was listening to the first time I played "Appetite" to him, he picked it sounded like TC era Live even in just the intro. Music has character, and if some fans can hear that, then you can bet your ass the people creating the music can FEEL that. CCP feel they are still Live because they created the damn music. So they have absolutely every right to carry on Live. Ed, sure no one can dispute the fact that he can play Live songs in concert, of course he can, he has as much right to as CCP do. Personally I find them offensive to the ears, they sound like balls. But that's ok, I've listened to them and decided that. If Nick heard Live 2.0 and didn't like it (which he will), then that's fine, but any statement saying that they shouldn't do it for ethical or moral reasons or whatever, is wrong.
The only reason I roll my eyes at Ed continuing to play so much Live stuff besides how bad his band sound, is because he's the one that continues to talk about moving on and it's just a direct contradiction.

God you are really, really grasping at straws for things to pick on. Just give it up, and go away.

So you are saying they are misleading fans? They have been very upfront and have posted multiple times about what is going on. It's all right there to read. Someone who just pops in for the first time in years may be caught off guard but to say they are misleading fans is ludicrous.
